Well, you've read the notes, the notes were big and had folly, and now it is time for you to post until the big cows come home.

Good morning all!

I intended to say that I liked BK's poster last night.

My Thunder shirt comment was a joke, DR Jane.  I didn't notice that they made the dogs feel any better-I just noticed that the thunder went away.  :)

So glad it's Friday and this week is over.

Vibes to all who need them.

Have a wonder filled day!

PETER FILICHIA weighs in on the CHILD NARRATOR IN "INTO THE WOODS"

Hmm, I wonder if this just MIGHT get a little bit of conversation going on the chat boards, it's got a nice little extra level of "bite" to it (at least i think it does) that plays against Peter's normally sweet and gentle persona - but I've guessed wrong before

But any and all conversation about Filichia is a good thing; it gets people to the Kritzerland site, right?

TOD

I have to revisit my recordings of Academy Awards Songs. It seems some of the songs that I thought had the original artists turned out not to be and when I went to watch them films from where they came from the songs had been dropped in favor of an instrumental version.

Mondo Cane and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. (It was wonderful to see the magnificent performance of Maggie Smith again. I believe it is one of the finest if not the finest performance ever committed to film)

I wonder why they would drop songs that have been nominated? I don't think it could be rights because the instrumental  versions are being used.

Good morning, all!  I slept well until 4:30, and then I had a very difficult time getting back to sleep. I 'm certain part of it was my mind flipping about over all that needs to be done before tomorrow's flight and that some of it is my anxiety about flying. I have a lot to accomplish today.

First thing, I'm meeting a member of the Miami University Theatre Dept for breakfast, then I must run to Tekserve to purchase a cover for my Macbook. Then, i'm heading to Toyland to check on the office. after that, Port Authority to purchase a bus ticket to JFK for tomorrow. Once I'm back here, i've got some shopping to do and some luggage to drag out of storage.

Last night, I watched the extras on thew Region-2 DVD of THE CRYING GAME; the alternate ending seems like ac ompletely different film. Then I watched the feature of the film and its distribution.

BK, I look forward to seeing a photo of the poster once it's been hanged.

Good morning, all.

Is it Friday?  I've had no concept of days all this week.  So much out of the ordinary going on.

My salvation at this moment is, of course:  coffee!

Last night's opening night for THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE was very good.  A couple of technical glitches, but they were ironed out.

AND we got thunder, lightning, and rain during the show...a LOT of rain.  Hopefully some of our grass will turn green.

TOD:

DVD - The Fly Collection.  Last night I watched MOST of The Fly and listened to the commentary by David Hedison and David Del Valle....which is fairly entertaining.....

CD - "The Rose" which I am signing for part of the reception .... after conducting the ceremony....

I will be glad when the wedding is over.

That FLY Collection is such a great set.  I was glancing at mine the other night, having just listened to the CD, realizing it's been way too long since I've seen the films.

(TOD):  These past two days have been so busy and odd that the last DVD I watched was INVADERS FROM MARS a couple of nights ago.  Lots of fun, and hard to believe I didn't grow up knowing this one.

SPOILER ALERT, I guess

Re Filichia on Friday: I saw the second preview of "Into the Woods" and at that time, Tom Aldredge's narrator was the Baker's son, and it provided a touching ending. Then when I saw the show again the weekend after the opening, the whole second act had been changed for a much broader comedy in which the narrator was turned over to the Giant's Widow, etc.

So, this is yet another version of "Into the Woods" that goes back to some of what had originally been in  the script. That leads me to the question: Are there any other musicals out there with multiple sanctioned scripts that can be performed? And I don't mean the adult version vs. a junior version?

Got a pain in my lower ribs. I think I probably pulled a muscle when I got out of bed having slept too long, breathed in deeply and stretched excessively.

TOD:

Blu-ray - Flame Over India or to give it it's proper title North West Frontier which looks vastly better than the washed-out French DVD I have. This is a nostalgic film for me having seen it when first released and thinking that here was a well made British adventure film at last. Kenneth More was hugely popular and not far from me is the Kenneth More Theatre which I often go to.

TOD:

I have 2 of 4 more discs to watch (and review) for THE WALKING DEAD, Season 2.

As much as I hate zombie movies, this show is excellent.  It's more about the people than the zombies.

I also have the most recent JESSE STONE TV movie w/Tom Selleck to watch and review.

I received word late last night that my first audio book is now available for download on Amazon and will soon be on iTunes.

It's ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD: From the Secret Files of Harry Pennypacker, narrated by a very talented fellow, Scott O'Neill, who lives in Seattle.

This is the new audio edition of my 2009 book that spoofed Hollywood's Golden Age and the tabloid press that covered it.  It contains bizarre tales of such movie icons as John Wayne, Elvis Presley, James Dean, Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe, The Marx Brothers and many others.

Indeed, I was laughing out loud hearing Scott read my words.

As an bonus, the download contains the book's title song, music and vocal by my son, David.

Follow this link to see how you can get your FREE DOWNLOAD.

http://www.amazon.com/Once-Upon-Time-Hollywood-Pennypacker/dp/B008VJD9DC/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1344569410&sr=1-1&keywords=once+upon+a+time+in+hollywood

Enjoy!

The lower (hellish) half of the driveway is almost history.  It's being paved as we speak.  The upper half that only needs filling and sealing will be done tomorrow, weather permitting.
