I was driving on the freeway and thinking how great it was that I'd be home by 9:50 when I heard a horrifying sound and the car started to swerve - I realized instantly a tire had blown - the right rear - but I was very quick-thinking, took control and thankfully I'd already passed most of the cars so there was no one around me. I was all the way to the left, so I made my way over to the extreme right lane right near the Forest Lawn off-ramp - there was something too off-putting and creepy about that off-ramp, so I bumped along another half-mile to the Buena Vista off-ramp, got off and pulled over at Riverside and Buena Vista. Called the AAA and I must say they got the assistance to me in ten minutes. He put on the baby tire - there was almost no tire left, but thankfully the rim was fine. Then I came home. First thing in the morning I'll go to my neighborhood Firestone tire dealer and get a new tire.
