I forgot about The Hudson Brothers.  I mostly remember them from a Saturday morning show....not the animated one....that was pretty funny!

And DR FJL....how about those splits from Mr Bostwick!!!

I watched SMASH online last week....and it was okay.  I might watch it for a few weeks and see how it goes.  It features a major irritant of mine, but there are some things that might overcome that for me.  And the music is okay.....

Wait until next season when Rachel and Kurt are no longer on "Glee"....am sure they will be joining the cast of "Smash"

The Hudson Bros. are Portlanders, and Bill still has a houseboat on the Willamette.

DR JOSE how was the food?  Were there libations as well?  What was the most interesting conversation you had....AND of course what was the BEST auditioning costume you saw?

DR JRand - Last night's food was good. My grilled grouper entree was a tad overlooked, but the appetizers were very good. I was in a "fruity mood", so I had a strawberry margarita followed by a strawberry daiquiri.

Oh, and hotel's fire alarm went off during the middle of dinner last night. Apparently, someone had left a lit cigarette near one of the smoke detectors. Thankfully, we only had to stand outside for about five minute while the fire department checked things out. -That was exciting.

Was The Grouper doing something bad that he or she were overlooked ???

Okay, I'm a day late in posting, but Mark and I attended Kritzerland show #18, and it was wonderful of course. Bruce helped us get a better table right up front, which we soooo appreciate! Anyway, Mark and I love Michelle Nicastro's CDs, so it's really great to hear those songs life. The Dressing Song is one of our favorites, and Melody Hollis did it splendidly. Again, how does she learn all those words?! And how does she sing them so fast? What an amazing brain she has. Anyway, other highlights of the show included hearing how Bruce and Alet Taylor first met, getting to hear Bruce sing once again, and hearing Mr. Sherman sing a lost song from Mary Poppins. It was a delightful little song called "Chimpanzoo", but there was no mic stand attached to the piano, so the accompaniest had to lean over and hold the mic for him. Mr. Sherman's comment was something like, "this is the nicest mic stand I've ever used." Very funny. Also, always charming is the way Bruce can never figure out how to say Kritzerland at Sterling's Upstairs at Vitellos. He always mixes up the order of the words which gets some giggles, but we forgive him because "he's old". The only disappointment was that our waiter never told us what the specials were. I knew nothing of the pasta with chicken and pink sauce until Bruce told us about it. Now I know to always ask what the specials are. Live and learn.

I always enjoy reading your reports of the shows.

Yes, i really enjoy them, too!  Thanks, Amy, for doing these.

Back from a good work out at the gym.  I've been trying to be good about eating breakfast about an hour before leaving for the gym so I'm having lunch when I return and not breakfast.  Interesting that even eating more food during the day I'm working to maintain my weight & not lose any of it.  I just burn fat but don't add muscle. :(

The Carol Burnett Show
Sonny and Cher

Ditto on "The Carol Burnett Show!"

I vaguely remember watching "Sonny and Cher" (and I guess Cher on her own), but I'm sure that I watched them...my whole family watched them all together.

"The Dean Martin Show" is another vague memory, as is "The Donny and Marie Show."

It's Tuesday already-- the week is flying by.

"And who's to say the week is out?  It's only Tuesday."

Which, at some point, was changed to:

"And who's to say the week is out?  It's only Friday."

Has it?

I've always wondered about the change from "crumpet" to "parsley". -Or is that vice versa?

As usual, I have absolutely no idea what you all are talking about.  :)

Well, that's because you're a lesbian.

You'd think that a lesbian would know of such things. ::)

I loved most of the variety shows mentioned. Didn't care for the Brady Bunch Variety Show, but I remember even liking things like "Joey and Dad" or whatever it was with Joey Heatherton. And of course, there was Manhattan Transfers show.

Carol Burnett was my fave. And thanks to Dan the Man, I'll be laughing the rest of the afternoon at the "Love Story" bit.

I suspect we have a few DR's who don't understand why DR JMK is often called a lesbian.  If you want an explanation I'm sure JMK will give you one.

DR Jane, I think everybody liked the pasta salad.

I know my sister loved it (she made me leave her the leftovers). I gave my mom some to try yesterday and she also liked it.

The guys ... well they ate it ... but didn't say anything. But i guess if they ate it then they probably liked it.

I gather you will be making this recipe again.

Except that i made it up :)

...

DR JRand, I'm using a pastel multi-colored yarn that reminds me of rainbow sherbet.
