Just read that 1950s B movie actress Norma Eberhardt passed away after suffering a stroke this weekend.

She was absolutly wonderful in her starring roles in LIVE FAST, DIE YOUNG and RETURN OF DRACULA. She was scheduled to be a guest at a show I plan to attend in NY next year. I was looking foward to meeting her. :-[

Norma had one blue and one brown eye....according to Ray Stricklyn her costar in RETURN OF DRACULA....which took some time for him to get used to.

What a great day so far! I've hopefully solved the router problems with the copiers and computer ar Toyland for Curtis to finish correcting, I've had a good meeting with DJ about the Appalachian Christmas project, and we know what needs to be rewritten and rearranged and who we can keep from the workshop and who needs to be recast. Between emails, the best site on the internet - HHW! - and Facebook, I'm walowing in birthday good will from lots of friends and acquaintances, so I have absolutely no. Complaints. Today. At. All.

A big thank you since my earlier one to DRS

Did you know that "pogue" is an Irish term for "kiss?" There a couplet "Give us a pogue then, you sly little rogue, then" in the Opening to Act Two of EILEEN.

I love you all! You love us all? (a BOY FRIEND reference)

To be precise "pogue" is Gaelic for kiss...and, yes, I did know it...the band The Pogue were actually called Pogue Ma Hone, I believe, which means kiss my arse and  Irish playwright Dion Boucicault wrote a play called Anna Na Pogue which translates as Anna Will Not Kiss.

Good morning, all! Yep, 65 years ago, I was born around 4:30am EST. I remember nothing about it; my first memories are from the age of two.

Yesterday, I had a very giod phone conversation with the Man From Philadelphia that cleared the air and made me quite happy. I can plan my trip to the Library of Congress, now that I know all is good.

I have very few plans today: a Toyland attempt to find the computer routing problem so Curtis can get things righted, a meeting about the Appalachian Christmas project, and a day to myself. My official birthday gathering is postponed to Wednesday night, so this will be a quiet day.

BK, I cannot believe you've never read ACT ONE! It was one of my favorite bios in high school and college, during which times I must have read it three or four times. In 1985, when I was working on JUBILEE, I read it again. It's filled with half-truths, but probably with no more than any other autobiography, but it's well writtyen with a fantastic, affectionate portrait of George S Kaufman. I think it's still one of the best theatre bographies ever written.

I also enjoyed the book.

The cat/house sitter is very pleased to be visiting with the cats again.  I really don't know what I'd do without her.

Isn't a cat house sitter something different?

New guy.

I've been pre-approved by his son and daughter.

And the household cat.   She likes to sit on my lap.  I fell asleep in the recliner while watching a move, once the blanket and cat and I were warm and toasty, I just feel asleep.   Embarrassing but really comfortable and easy.

Yesterday, I wrote:

The best moment was the supporting actress in a comedy series presentation!  That was hysterical! ;D

I meant lead actress presentation.

Brain fart...yet again. ::)

But the clip is still hysterical! ;)

Thank you for this.

Just like Sherlock!  I bet the contrast was more subtle.
