The laundry is finished and I will proceed to other tasks.

DR vixmom, I'm glad you liked the HENRY VIII.

I'm up, I'm up.  The sun is trying to peek through and not quite being successful about it.  Yesterday, we had no sun at all.

The movie last night, as I said, is very well done.  But the plot is odd and I think it's going to be a very difficult sell.

Are you still living in London Doug?  You said you were from London so I wasn't sure if that meant you now resided elsewhere.

Yes, I live in London and am enjoying typical rainy London weather today!

It is.  ;D

That's far more industrious than I have been today. I merely have fallen asleep trying to read one of my class assignments.

Here is the storybook dollhouse that my former co-worker Gwen just finished.  Each of the books on the cart is somehow represented in the house:

While talking to Keith's brother this morning he kept commenting how dark it was outside.

While reading in bed this morning, after a long night of reading, my Nook battery ran out.  I guess it was time to get up anyway.

I forgot to mention this is the second time it has happened to me.  If I read at all in the afternoon I must remember to fully charge it again before bedtime.

Today is my niece's 6th birthday. She had a birthday party for 8 of her friends this morning. It was a cupcake decorating party. I am so tired.

So got a lot of presents!

At 6pm we're going out for Chinese food. That is one of my favorites and have not had it for quite a while. So yum!

Here are some places to look for free books. Granted they are old and out of copyright but there are lots of good books.

Project Gutenberg

Gutenberg Australia

Gutenberg Canada

ManyBooks

Google Books

E-Books.com

Enjoy your new toy! I love mine, (even though it's a Sony reader not a Kindle).

I was about curl up on the couch & finish reading David Copperfield when the dogs settled next to me.  Yogi seems content even though Craig isn't here & I don't want to disturb him.  Maybe if I sneak away & bring the Nook back here he will stay still & quiet.

For DR Doug, Craig is my DS (dear son) and Yogi is Craig's dog or my DGD (dear grand-dog).  Yogi was left on Craig's doorstep in Romania when he was only 4 weeks old.  He suffers greatly from separation anxiety.

If you can be close enough to an outlet you can plug it in and keep reading while it charges

That's the one thing about the Sony that I don't like. I can't charge and read at the same time but a charge lasts a long time. It will go for 3 weeks before I need a recharge.

Larry, here is another interesting site, not e-books but audio books

My desk chair is not the most comfortable place to sit & read but anything for the comfort of the dogs in this house. ;D

Keith said the wi-fi is on and he will turn it off later which should improve the battery time.  I'm sure most people don't have the terrible habit of reading most the night.

David Copperfield wrote an autobiography? :-)

My Sony is like that also. If I use the wi-fi (which I rarely do) or use it as an mp3 player the battery drains very quickly but if I just use it to read the battery life is very good.
