Amazingly, I have heard not word one from the replication house.  They were forwarded the e-mail they needed several hours ago.  Communication is, apparently, not high on their list of job skills.  The authoring house, who is owned by the replication house, communicates wonderfully, so I've got him on this.  I just e-mailed the replication house, too, saying I would appreciate communication, a timeline for replicating the discs and when I can expect them.  I would use the authoring house again in a heartbeat, but will think twice about where I replicate from now on.

DR Elmore - keep us posted...

In other news, you'll be interested that my book group enthusiastically agreed to read Emile Zola's The Ladies' Paradise as our November selection.  In the course of searching for a credible link to include on our website I found this interesting tidbit:

Lark Rise to Candleford Writer to Adapt Zola Novel for BBC1

Exciting news which I have shared with our friends who introduced us to the Lark Rise series.  I think it is exciting as I haven't read the novel. ;)

Here's another Vikki Carr number, written by a dear friend, Harriet Schock, AIN'T NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY (the song is also known in its version by BK's colleague Helen Reddy)

VIKKI CARR's rendition of AIN'T NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY

It happens I'm seeing a concert by harriet this weekend.  :)

Great song but the sound was bad so I stopped listening.  Enjoy the concert.

It sounded great on my computer, but I deleted the post if it's sounding less than good on other people's computers.

All is approved and I'm told discs will ship to me on the 23rd, so I will definitely have them for Chicago.  I told them to ship 100 to me via second day shipping, and the balance will come ground and should be here either just before I leave on the 30th or the day I'm back.  Hoo and ray.

I thought that it sounded fine...no problem at all.

I often have problems with the sound on older YouTube clips as I don't have the best sound, even with additional speakers.

Yeah, that one was from the 1970's or 1980's , recorded off TV on someone's VCR.

It turned out by coincidence that the lady who's running the concert location - totally by coincidence - is a friend of my brother's, so we were invited to the party afterwards both by Harriet and by the person running the thing.  I wonder if we get to eat twice as much because of that.  :)

Today I went with my neighbor to the west side of town to see the butterfly garden we planted last spring. Every plant was dead. Very sad. Then we went on the east side of town to the best-kept gardener's secret in town -- and I got two beautiful passion vines. Then I took Feathers and Shades back to adoptions. That about broke my heart. Happily, Meezy has been adopted.

Good news about the BLue Raes.

I am off to the 6th performance of Don't Drink the Water.

Good for Meezy.....adoption to good homes vibes for Feathers and Shades.

Just received in the mail the Warner DVD set Errol Flynn Signature Collection Volume 2. I love those classic Errol Flynn films. I already have volume 1 but for some reason didn't get round to buying volume 2 until now. Despite all these Blu-ray discs floating around, I still enjoy watching DVDs and I doubt that any of the films in this collection will ever go Blu. I also like the fact that Warner package these discs in slim cases which take up less space on shelves - one thing I'm really short of is storage space to put all these DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs, books etc.  I can hardly move about the place without tripping over another pile of discs!

Be careful you don't slip a disc.

Friday morning greetings!  Today we must make Rob's bedroom habitable for his new bride, who's arriving this weekend for her first visit as a member of our family.  She's bringing Keltie, her family's Westie, so I guess we've acquired a grand-dog, too.

I assume that Rob will be sleeping on the sofa.

Fantastic news, DR Elmore!  Will you be going to Hilton Head?

Yep! Do you and Father Richard want to take a trip?

Can you email me the specifics?

I don't know much yet. Performances are Nov 10-13, Thursday, Friday, Saturday matinee and evening, Sunday. I'll be headng back to NYC on Nov 14. I want Randy and Jo to drive down.

What about the Macbeths?
