Okay, I have avoided reading anything about this stupid end of the world thing. So, who believed it, did people stock up on food and stuff like the last time one of these silly things passed and do people ever admit they were wrong?
But I believe I was quoted today as saying that I thought the show was not as bad this time as last time.
Well, Matthew, I didn't like ABBA songs back in the day, so I am sure it is no surprise. Plus, the thought of bringing all the old boyfriends together -- well, that's my idea of a nightmare.
Today, I need to go to work for a couple of hours, then I'm ushering for matinee performance of a ballet version of Peter Pan!Studio West Dance Theatre is proud to announce the Olympia Premier of the Ballet Peter Pan! Celebrate the 100 Year Anniversary of this magical novel and the fantastical adventure it reveals. All sets and costumes are provided by the Eugene Ballet and are spectacular! The company, Flying with Foy, will be working with us and the dancers will become airborne! The title role of Peter Pan will be performed by professional dancer Avram Gold from the Minnesota Ballet.I've never heard of Studio West Dance Theatre, so I don't know if they're local. It should be interesting, though!
Well, time to think about taking the car to the dealership to be serviced.
Last night, I worked concessions for Kathy Najimy and the Seattle Women's Chorus. It was a great show. The chorus was pretty good and a lot of fun. Kathy Najimy was very funny...not a great singer but she certainly performed with great exuberance.
I brought a program from [a local production of] "Parallel Lives" (co-written by Kathy Najimy) that I saw the night before and the booklet for the London cast recording of Sister Act to see if I could have them sent backstage for her autograph. I didn't get to meet her (nor did I expect to) and I also didn't get her autograph. She didn't sign any and she didn't come out to the lobby after the show. Our house manager did ask Kathy's manager and he said that if they take my stuff with them, she'll sign them later and send them back to me. I thought...why not? So, unless something goes horribly wrong, I'll eventually get my stuff back with Kathy's autograph.
I'm glad you got your stuff, George. How exciting.
