I'm home from the Basket Project and I'm about to take a shower before heading over the NYU for the play reading.

I guess my early magazines were Highlights and Jack & Jill.  There were also the school-offered Weekly Reader and Read magazine.  I would also page through my parents' magazines, Life, Time, Popular Mechanics, Family Circle and Woman's Day. 

I didn't really begin to read TV Guide until I was about 13.  My teen-age mags were Famous Monsters, Eerie, Creepy and Vampirella.  Also began reading Rolling Stone, National Lampoon, Time, Newsweek and New York Magazine.  When I was about 15 or 16, I found that I could get away with buying Playboy at my Nook of Knowledge book store and at my local 7-11.

I've subscribed to all the theatre magazines:  ShowMusic, Playbill, In Theatre, TheaterWeek, American Theatre and some backstage technical journal whose name escapes me at the mo'.

Nowadays, I still enjoy reading magazines.  Mens' Health, Mens Journal, Esquire, Entertainment Weekly and an occasional Rolling Stone, New Yorker, Time and New York Magazine.

A few weeks ago, I saw that someone was publishing a new version of Famous Monsters of Filmland.  It was rather pricey and pretty much looked like the magazine as it was when I stopped reading it--as a catalogue for horror/sci-fi merchandise.

I've subscribed to lots of magazines over the years.  I remember when I was about 12 I saw an order card for Life-I think it was for 10 cents an issue.  

Now I get Entertainment Weekly, Time, Smart Money, TV Guide, Consumer Reports, Time Out New York & National Geographic Traveler.   I barely have time to read them all.

I would always read THE NEW YORKER and READER'S DIGEST (cover to cover) when I saw either one at someone else's or at the doctor's office.  However, every time I would subscribe to either one of them, they would end up tossed into a drawer or or on a coffee table unread.

Back from a long afternoon in Dayton.  Rob dropped me off at my meeting venue and took the car for his errands around Dayton.  I got a ride to my former workplace from the young woman who now has the job from which I retired and jumped from her car to Rob's (well mine, actually).  We stopped at one of the library's southern branches to pick up some items I had on hold, then we picked up Chinese food to bring home for dinner.

I no longer have to attend grantwriter board meetings - they gave me and the other retiring board member lovely gifts of amaryllis bulbs.

This isn't the best photo I have of Elizabeth, but I like it.  I think my favorite may be in my other computer   My favorite was a breakfast event on a friend's front porch
