Yesterday I finally watched my Netflix Blu Ray selection,
CRASH, which has been sitting for about 6 weeks. While there are apparently many films with this title, this one features Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Sandra Bullock and many more. To say that this is a dark film is the ultimate understatement. What a "downer!" I don't know why I selected it in the first place. I don't know why I even finished watching it in the second place.
It apparently won a few Oscars. I suppose that it's intent was to deliver a message, but when I watch a film, I want to be entertained and not be the recipient of a "sermon."
The lesson learned is that maybe I should consider changing my Netflix plan to network streaming, which my new Sony Blu Ray player will do. The downside is that it will decrease the number of selections available, but the upside is that I can immediately watch another. My option now is to slip the disk into its envelope, mail it back to Netflix and wait for my next selection to be sent - usually a two day deal. Oh yeah - and speak out about COMCAST trying to screw with Netflix streaming via COMCAST internet services!
