Harking back to yesterday's post, I believe that Jane Connell played Miss Hannigan during Annie's initial run at the Shubert in Los Angeles.  And the late Keene Curtis played Daddy Warbucks.  I have to add that Mr. Curtis one of the kindest and most gracious persons I have ever met.  But that's a another story for another day.

I disliked Mr Keene Curtis' CHARACTER on Cheers - some by-the-book creator's idea of a continuing conflict just was nothing but annoying....like Mr Smith on Lost In Space.

RE: trick-or-treaters.

It's hard to know which houses to go to. If a house has lights on but no Halloween decorations (like I assume was the case at BK's house) sometimes it's hard to know whether to go there or not.

I grew up in Camden and we were bred as hardcore Trick or Treaters.  The rule was--leave no stone unturned!  We went to every house, decorated or not, lights on or not.  If you got them to at least open the door, you were bound to get something out of the deal. 

The strangest treat I recall getting were a couple of 45 rpm records that were stamped "Not for sale. For DJ use only."

The thing that's beginning to really bother me about these political phone calls is some of these calls come in on Caller ID as private. We have some friends who come in as private also and we generally answer the phone but we have been tricked a few times. I think it's scummy politics at its worst, no matter which side you are on, to send those calls out Private and I have told them as such saying I don't vote for politicians who do this sleazy thing and don't call here again. They know that if it comes through ID with a name or organization attached that I won't pick up so they lie to get through. Scumbags!!! I can't wait for November 3rd.

Utahan is a later accretion--we were taught to use Utahn back in the Dark Ages when I attended school in SLC.

Tech week has arrived, and I will say no more

Good morning.   I've decided to get up at 6:00 AM all week.  Next week this will be 7:00, so I figure it will make the transition a little easier.

I've been letting myself sleep in since I returned from Chicago.  I hope I can do it for one more week, then I will be getting up at the usual time.

I'll have to check my programs when I get home, but I'm almost positive Edwards was in one of the 1937 stock productions she did in the Northeast.

We covered a lot of ground and stayed out late.  There were very few houses that didn't have lights on and we skipped those.  There were a few neighbors who left baskets on the porch & we only took one bar per person.  Back then they were large bars of candy.
