I am very relieved.....no I am very very relieved. The vet sent in a culture anyway, but she was pretty sure.

Today I told a Federal District Court Judge that getting my cat to the vet was more important than being at the 10:30 am hearing that he told me about for the very first time at 10:05 AM. I am pleased to say he told me I didn't need to be there and it will be rescheduled. LOL, the hearing isn't even about MY client, it's about her husband. I have nothing to say about it, but will go if I have enough notice. I think his assistant was surprised that I was so insistent that I couldn't be there.

Well, I didn't actually have the conversation with him, it was with his assistant, but it's the same thing, really

And on the happiest note of all, two of my clients who were previously considered to be in the country illegally got their green cards today!! One is a 16 year old artist. I took the case pro bono and he's going to paint me something as payment. He won an art contest here, so who knows...

We are off now on a mission of mercy for my mother - to buy Scotch and deliver it to her. She's been out for a while and says she can't sleep without it. Who's gonna argue with someone who turns 92 next month?

I probably won't be back until after my book group meeting tonight - bye for now!

Milky Ways are wonderful out of the freezer.

If you live in a hot climate, you had better keep your chocolate in the refrigerator

This morning at precisely 10:00 a.m., a very nice (and very attractive) cable guy came over to my place to look at my cable modem and check out my Internet situation. He looked at the brand new modem and saw that, yes, it really was dead. He disconnected the modem and hooked up the cable to some device that ran tests on the cable connection and everything look fine, as far as cable connectivity was concerned. He then went to his van and got another new modem...a different model than what I had just gotten AND one that allows for even higher speeds! I wasn't able to check it out very much when he left, but I will when I get home.

I could tell that my mom had been watching Fox news when she told me how angry she was at the government.

I asked her what she was so angry about. She said that she didn't like the government telling her what she could and could not do. I asked her what was it that she wanted to do that the government would not allow her to do. She couldn't think of anything and then she got mad at me.

I tried to help her out by asking if it was that she just wanted to be able to murder someone, or take dope, or run red lights, or what.

She didn't talk to me for a whole week.
