From Ginny:
Quote
OK, all the elements of my Armchair Tour of the Windy City gift bag are complete and I just need to put it together tomorrow.  I have a tin from Garrett's with the Chicago skyline on it that I've filled with my homemade caramel corn and 2 DVDs from WTTV11 - "Chicago by Boat: The New River Tour" and "The Foods of Chicago: A Delicious History."  Would YOU be pleased to win that as a door prize?

I would!!  It would prepare me for my upcoming trip to Chicago.

Had a wonderful telephonic conversation with one of the companies I license from, and that will hopefully result in five or six new projects that can happen in the next few months - plus, I'm going to be able to license some of their overseas show titles, at least it looks that way.

Then I went to Sam Bobrick's house, where he and Ron Clark read the new version of the show that I've been helping with.  It's so much better now - some really funny things in it, and not so winky-winky as it was.  Still work to be done, and I made a couple of suggestions they liked, so now the next job is to get the music right.

That's horrible, Larry. :'(

It's really got to me. He clearly felt he had nowhere to turn, his shithead roommate clearly was out to get him, and he gives up everything. The poor kid. I'd have sued their asses off.

Of course they should be jailed. I think they should be executed for terminal stupidity.

I hope Tyler's family takes them to court for wrongful death as well.

DR Jane what did you think of THE GOOD WIFE? I liked it.

We didn't watch it yet.

I found HIDE at the used book store so I can read it on the flight to Chicago.

Back from cardiac rehab, where they made me watch a couple of lame American Heart Association videos about heart-healthy eating.  When those were over, I listened on my iPod to a podcast that I'd downloaded from the American Theatre Wing - an interview with Gerard Alessandrini about Forbidden Broadway.  What's weird is that they talk about selections they're going to play and the actual tracks have been edited out.

How much did that cost you‽

Back from my appointment.  A little loopy right now, but, I was told to go home and sleep it off.  Nine polyps removed, the DR said they did NOT look cancerous.  They will be biopsied and I'll know in a few weeks.

That is a lot of polyps!  They can usually tell if they are cancer.  Some might be the kind that could become cancer.  Since you got them it won't really matter.  My guess you will be doing this again in three or four years.

BTW, lest I forget:  for those of you picking up the new Blu-ray of THE MALTESE FALCON next week, give yourselves a little surprise and listen to the German language track (make sure to select it before you start the film).

Also take a look at the documentary (assuming it's the same one from the 2-disc DVD Special Edition).  You might see somebody that you know.

I am suddenly very depressed. I just heard on the news about 18 year-old gay Rutgers student Tyler Clementi who killed himself by jumping off the George Washington Bridge after his roommate and another student secretly videotaped him having sex and broadcast the tape over the internet.
http://news.lalate.com/2010/09/29/rutgers-mourns-suicide-of-tyler-clementi/

http://abcnews.go.com/US/victim-secret-dorm-sex-tape-commits-suicide/story?id=11758716

I feel so sorry for his family, and I'm so angry at the families of these dumbass students responsible I cannot see straight. Don't these idiots teach their children anything about ethics or morality?

Chances are the parents of these kids are more horrified than you are.

In other, perhaps less distressing news, I've just discovered that someone quoted one of my reviews on a Wikipedia article about a film.  I find this rather humorous for some reason.

Were you given credit for the quote?
