Back in the early days of CDs, when they listed an 800 number on all the releases in case of quality issues, I used to call, put on  a "Gomer Pyle" voice and tell them my stylus was just slipping over the surface of the disc, as well as the hole in the middle being too big for the turntable.  They were not amused.

What fun! Too many song titles that I don't remember well: time to refresh Ye Olde iPod. "Job Application" is such a powerful song; I'd love to have heard Myers's take on it.

Jane - I was just asking last night if at this point it would be all right to not have to worry about spoiler space two days after the CLOSER episode had aired.. (I think everyone was being careful.)

Maybe this is wild fear on my part - but even in addition to what it says about the main character now contributing to a death in a pre-meditated way - I worry that when people see prosecutors go back on deals or screw over the person they had a deal with on a popular Tv show - it sends a message that deals are deals only when the prosecutors can't find a way around it. 

And when a character a show has depicted as a positive character we're supposed to understand for a whole series does such a thing - might it have an effect on real-life people trusting prosecutors in such informant deals in the future.

I want to kick some butt today. I hate it when I send new music files to people who tell you, six weeks later, can you send me the following numbers? I expect the MD for this recording project to be more on top of things than he is and it's driving me mad, especially since I discovered that on Monday he had none of the computerised music in his book and I asked him to go through it and tell me what manuscript copies needed to be replaced. He has not yet done it and this affected his rehearsal with Rebecca Luker today. Don't complain to me when you wonder why your career's going nowhere.

My Darling Daughter, who clearly does not believe in taking any precautions, is planning on bringing the family down to Rehoboth tonight to spend the weekend in their RV.

There should be minimum danger, unless the storm fails to make it's predicted turn to night (which is exactly what Katrina did, at the last minute - sparing the Panhandle and destroying the rest of the gulf coast.

I'm just choosing the Unsung Musicals songs - much harder - so many good ones on volumes one and three - two not so much.  There will be no put-togethers in this show - I felt last night's show was one song too long so that will take care of that.  The daunting song is Sherry - I have an idea who can do it, but she'd have to fly in and I don't know if she would want to or if she even can.

Back from a really fun lunch with my two Adriana fans (and the father of one of them).  They are truly obsessed with the books and Adriana - both of them have read them multiple times and can quote a lot of dialogue.  It was so gratifying to hear them talk about their favorite scenes and characters and moment - it just makes me so happy to know that those books are loved by the age range they were written for (these girls are actually twenty although both look MUCH younger).  They totally identify with Adriana, and Miranda's dad told me she's now shopping at vintage clothing stores.  I told them a little about the new book and they seemed really excited by the direction that book will take. 

They've been to locations talked about in the book, and after lunch they were all going to the alley in back of Mel's to see the site of the first book's murder - the diagram in the book is of that alley and everything is there down to the last detail.
