You are in a car with several people.....Simon & Garfunkel's "Sounds of Silence" comes on the radio.....the driver announces: "This song was written about Woodstock." And everyone in the car is impressed that he knows that....

I chose not to speak up after some deliberation.....sometimes it just isn't worth it......kind of like the day at Blockbuster when the girl in line in front of me told the clerk that Audrey Hepburn was married to William Holden when he died.....

Now that I have learned my lines and sort of set my performance, I watched the movie version of NEVER TOO LATE again last night.

The changes Long made in the screen play were really clumsy, now that I look at it.....and Connie Stevens and Jim Hutton are great.....but pretty much charmless in their roles....and Maureen O'Sullivan is just too old for the part....maybe onstage it worked, but not on film....Jane Wyatt who plays neighbor Grace would have been better.....but she just wasn't box office, I guess....and O'Sullivan and Paul Ford came from the Broadway production AND 1007 performances.

It actually wasn't too bad on my back. There were partial backs on the seats (a back on the top but no back in the middle). If i tilted sideways a bit it was more comfortable (i was on the end).

The circus was pretty good. Although they had a 45 minute intermission, because they decided to let the elephant rides ($7/kid) go on until there were no more kids who wanted them.

There were some good acts. There was this daredevil running inside a huge steel hamster wheel. The wheel went up to the roof and then spun around. He would run either in it or on top. There was a big gasp when he was skipping on top of it (in the air) and almost fell (with no net).

Good morning, all! I have a lot of Victor Herbert wrting today and tomorrow so I'm sticking close to the apartment Around 5 pm today, I'm meeting Bruce Pomahac, and at 7 we're seeing a short play with songs by Larry Grossman that Alice Playten is in. After the show, we're going to dinner, I'm looking forward to it.

Last night I finished the biography I was reading and I have to settle on a new book today. It may be FOOL, based on KING LEAR, by Christopher Moore (no relation). I've also got the book about the smothers Brothers, so maybe I'll begin both of them.

It ended at 10pm (because of the intermission), which is sort of late for kids.

We had 10 free tickets. So my niece's best friend was there with her mom and brother. And my sister's friend was there with her husband and two kids. And there was me, my sis and my niece.

It's hard to believe that 2 years ago we had to leave in the middle because my niece hated it and was too scared.

Although we could use a bit more storage space, we really are in our dream house now.

I wish it was back in Los Angeles, but then everything would be 37-40% more expensive.

On the other hand, in L.A., I could go to Canter's regularly and get a good corned beef on rye sandwich.

I'm awake, the dogs are not. I have things to do before auditions, one thing might include finding a pinata for the birthday party tonight. That will take a miracle. Of course, today is windy and very fall like. I could use more summer.

Saturday morning greetings! Rob and ML went to Cincinnati early this morning for coffee with a friend and Richard just left for a memorial service for the grandmother of one of Rob's high school friends. The kids will meet him there and later today we'll all rendezvous to go to dinner at Montgomery Inn. No more ribs, Saratoga chips, and ranch dressing for me, but I'm sure the barbecue chicken, baked potato or vegetable, and nonfat salad dressing will be just as good. Or I could have grilled salmon.

DR Ginny, is the Montgomery Inn close to the Tri-County shopping center? I have the residual memory that the Macbeths took me there a very long time ago while she was still growing fangs.
