About this cure for cancer... During my mother's long and arduous descent into Nevermore, she said: Everybody dies of something. There will never be a cure for death. That's why you have to live while you're living.

What a lovely way to look at life.

BK - my 18:59 playlist today included tracks from 2 of your albums - "Bacharach at the Movies" from THE BURT BACHARACH ALBUM and the title song from HELLO, DOLLY.

John G., maybe I misread one of your posts yesterday; but I thought you wrote that Reno opens ANYTHING GOES with "I Get A Kick Out of You."  But she doesn't in any prodcution I have ever seen. I have always seen the show open with "You're The Top."

In the original 1934 show and the Lincoln Center revival, the first number after the overture is "I Get A Kick Out of You."

At last the Intro/Main Report for Vol. 2 of BABES IN TOYLAND is beginning to look like something decent. Of course, only God knows what's going on with my employer about this project since none of us working on it do!

Back from a two-mile jog and ninety minutes later I'm the first post?  Not that it took me ninety minutes to do two miles, but really, get me off this damn page.

In today's mail I received a mix CD from DR Edi called "Music for a Happy Heart."  It has 25 tracks, all songs with "heart" in the title, progressing from broken to mended.  I am overwhelmed at the love and creativity that went into this special gift!

Thank you, dearest DR Edi!!!.

May you listen in good health! And note that I fought the urge to include Harry Nilsson's "You're Breaking My Heart" (you're tearin' apart, so F--- you) even though it was aerobically worthy!

I think I'll take a drive in the motor car, do some errands and whatnot, hopefully pick up some packages and, more importantly, an important envelope, and then think about food.

This weekend i plan to read the screenplay from Jerry Lewis' infamous film "The Day The Clown Cried"

I always wanted to know why the film was never released. Was it really that bad?

Great quote!!!

Fingers crossed your charming house sells quickly!!  Nice to hear the reading went well.

Company is coming tomorrow.  Someone you have a few things in common with.  She graduated with us, was a bridesmaid in our wedding and you share the same birth date.  Guess who ;)

Back from some fun travels, including a stop at Mystery and Imagination Bookstore.  They told me a funny and wonderful story.  Several weeks ago I mentioned that I'd met a man and his wife who then proceeded to tell me that their daughter LOVED the Hofstetter mysteries - she and her friend have read them over and over again.  They hadn't gotten her the third one yet because she wanted to go to a signing and meet me and have her sign it directly to her.  They'd missed the one I'd done when it first came out.  So, apparently they were at the Ray Bradbury 90th birthday party that Mystery and Imagination threw last Sunday.  And the daughter was there, and they bought Murder at the Hollywood Historical Society for her and she was clutching it to her and asking the owners if I was going to show up - it was really a sweet story.  So, I had Christine e-mail the guy and tell him that I'd meet them anywhere and sign the book for the daughter - he wrote back and said we'd do it as soon as this Ray Bradbury Week celebration is done - in a week.  Isn't that fun?  And yes, there will be another Hofstetter book, either next or after the next.

Oh dang...no! I tried not to include too much cheesey music; not good for the heart. Although I did include Neil Diamond's "Turn on your Heartlight".

I've been wrestling grapevine and honeysuckle, thinking that since we had so much rain last night things would come up easier.

Not.

And it's so humid the heat index is 97 so my clothes are sopping---had to come in for some water. Can't wait to get done and take a shower!

"Soppin' Women"---didn't Johnny Mercer write the lyrics to that?

And of course as soon as I burned it, I thought of more songs, but, like editing, sometimes you just have to decide you're done and wrap it up!
