TOD:  A second choice would be

"There's No Business Like Show Business" (20th Century-Fox - 1954).

The laserdisc of this film was lauded as "reference" quality for that medium.

The movie is a musical spectacle of lavishness, tunefulness and brashly wonderful performances.

This movie is already available on DVD.

It was faboo to see the sweet and lovely DR Jane at Lithia Park in Ashland, and good news about Keith!

Cilla I'm glad your arm is improving.

Years ago our one of our dogs knocked me down the stairs.  As I fell my little toe caught in the stair rail.  I also twisted my arm terribly and while I was dealing with the pain in my arm I was thinking once it subsided I was really going to notice the pain in the broken toe.  The arm was greatly improved the next day while the toe took years to recover.

It is nice to read Jon is back to school & about his restoration work. :)

It is Thursday morning for anyone wondering.

And Barack Obama is president.

We go through this every day, in case the kids try to put us in The Home so we will pass the current events portion of the intake exam.

Hi, Miss Karen! Nice to see you! How's Boo-key?

I haven't had any problems with "unsafeness", on this here site anyway!

Nice to see you, too, DR Edi. Boo-Key is well. He's semi-started his new job as technical director at the Prescott Fine Arts Theatre -- I say semi because his placement is through AmeriCorps (what they call the domestic Peace Corps cause you serve in the US and not abroad) and their funding cycle for his position doesn't start til Oct. 1. But he's already giving some hours to work on the season opener on their set, lighting and sound. As part of his volunteer/ off the clock hours, he plans on auditioning for their fall musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

I didn't realize this was part of AmericCorps.  Will he spend the entire time in his hometown?  Not a bad gig. :)

DR Laura, who pays for these procedures? I always liked the delicacy of that term.

I'm having some matzoh ball soup. For lunch I had a pseudo chicken fajita wrap that was quite tasty.

Tylenol with codeine can sure provoke some weird dreams. I don't remember any of last night's dreams except that they were very weird.

Oh, I saw it, years ago. Just don't know what the show would be like...

I assume it's close to the film. I believe the score is by Dave Yazbeck who did FULL MONTY and DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS.

I would like to see Disney take the plunge and release Song Of The South uncut. I know it is a little racist and I felt that way when I saw it on it last theatrical release in the 80's (?) But it is a film of its time and should be looked as such.

I also missed most of the first act of South Pacific. I have to agree that the camera work was terrible, but that is because I guess they really didn't have enough technically rehearsal. They also could have had a better curtain call without the credits rolling, This was PBS they didn't have to rush it for the news hour.

No, but they have to finish before 11 o'clock to avoid union overtime.

I think I would love to see Arnold on DVD or Blu Ray. That film starred Elsa Lancaster, Stella Stevens, Roddy McDowall, Shani Wallis, and Farley Granger. It a fun film where people die in outrageous fashion

PBS does have restrictions over how long the credits can be, so that's why they were rolling so fast!

TOD:
The Boy Friend: I cannot believe all of Ken Russell's films aren't on DVD!
Prospero's Books: I cannot believe more of Peter Greenaway isn't on DVD, although I'm not a huge fan of his nor of Michael Nyman's soundtracks
The Uninvited: one of the best ghost movies ever and "Stella By Starlight!"
Advance to the Rear:  there's a lot of enthusiasm for this comedy that I cannot understand from what I saw; the bootleg appears to be cut, the sound is lousy, and it makes little sense

When I saw ADVANCE TO THE REAR in a theater when I was young; I enjoyed it so much that I went out and bought the book, THE COMPANY OF COWARDS.  The book was nothing like the movie, and it was far from funny.  That day I learned that it is better to read it from the library, until you know for sure what you are getting.

DR Jennifer vibes you don't have any problems as a result of the strange case of Caesar's Palace & your email!!!

I finally opened the attachment since it wasn't spam (since the person checking out at Caesar's Palace paid but gave my email address). And the bill was paid, but the person had my exact name. It had her address in Florida on the bill. Weird.
