Hey everybody.  Saturday seems to be upon us.  Today is a wedding a two performances of Annie which means double the "Tomorrows" and I LOVE that.

TOD - How Can Love Survive?  No Way to Stop It, The Farmer and the Cowman, Mister Snow, A Lovely Night, Ten Minutes Ago and SO many others.  Oh, and ALL the overtures!

JR, I will look out for Miss Hayward's wardrobe malfunction.

Perhaps it will be mentioned in the preshow activities.  I didn't believe it actually existed until i bought the DVD and - well - quelle surprise!  Still don't know why Fox let it be released like that....if it is so noticeable on TV, what must it have been like on the B I G screen?

???  What are you talking about, meaning, what post did I miss?   ;D

I get the most interesting info from the counter on my FF article page.  It lets me know how people find the page, including someone who navigated there by typing this into his search query:

What did Elvis say his autobiography should be called?

DR Elmore - when the Lincoln Center CAROUSEL played Detroit's Fisher Theatre, the cast was:

Carrie Pipperidge...Dran Seitz
Julie Jordan...Eileen Christy
Mrs. Mullen...Benay Venuta
Billy Bigelow...Harve (be still my heart) Presnell
Nettie Fowler...Katherine Hilgenberg (who later was the U of M voice teacher of my friend Karen)
Enoch Snow...Reid Sheton (another Michigan alum)
Jigger Cragin...Jerry Orbach (the only time I saw him on stage)
Starkeeper...Edward Everett Horton
That's one cast I would have loved to have seen. Dran was also sister to Tani, who was in "The Nervous Set," a particular guilty obsession of mine.

Last night our company arrived from Portland.  We are enjoying their darling delightful 15 month old daughter.  Thankfully for me she is a lightweight and I've been able to pick her up and carry her around.

Watching Sherlock with her makes us proud parents.

Last night we went to a nice Japanese restaurant we don't go to very often.  As usual the meal and service were excellent.  On the way home we stopped and collected our mail, and in the mail was a surprise for me.

I'm back at the cabin, and the guys did a pretty fine job of replacing the rotted timbers under the house. There are a few things I'm NOT happy about, but I'm learning to let go...

What surprise, Jane???

About the 'letting go' -- I will be selling this place this summer, after ten years... life has moved on, time I moved with it... the river runs...

We're talking about With A Song in My Heart starring Miss Susan Hayward. It's showing at Chelsea Classics on August 8th. I mentioned yesterday morning that since I've never seen the movie (and we just watched I'll Cry Tomorrow last weekend) I am planning on seeing With A Song in My Heart.

There was a purple folder with white lettering that says Ashland University.  The mother of the little sweetie, a local gal, pointed out those are the colors of the local high school.  Our friend was surprised to see Ashland, Ohio also has a Chautauqua series.  We, including Keith, enjoyed browsing the goodies inside the folder.  I especially like the Ashland University book mark, pen and post its.

THANK YOU DR GINNY!!!!  Such a nice surprise to top off a wonderful afternoon and evening. :)

Hi Penny.  I'm shocked!  I had hoped one day we would get back up to see you there.  And this means you won't be driving past us anymore.  It has been fun and I wish you the best of luck selling.

Some old friends (from 1969...) have been at the cabin one time, about 7 years ago... they're flying out from NY for one week at the beginning of Sept to be here one last time... Maybe Jane and Keith and Sherlock could come on up for a couple of daze??? You would love the improvements since the last time you were here.

Dear ol' Sherlock - nice to know he's good with babies... what a sweet boy.

Thursday at the lake he was very good with an eighteen month old girl.  He doesn't like anyone except us putting their hands in his face.  Thursday and yesterday he let he gentle little girls do so.

Cute story.  The little girl has a bird house made of fabric with little fabric birds inside.  When Sherlock wanted to play with it I told him no.  The next time he sniffed it the little girl waived her hand at him and said no and Sherlock calmly walked away.  He lets her take his toys. :)

Penny do we know the friends from '69?  For a second I thought you were going to say they were buying the house.

I hear a little voice. :)  Gotta go get my fix.  She is calling for the baby, meaning my dolls all over the house.

In about an hour and a half, I am interviewing Tony Award-winning scribe, Steven Sater, about his world premiere ( New York Animals) at my theatre - Rogue Machine Theatre in WLA... more a work in progress than an actual world premiere - kind of an outa town preview or something. Still needs work, but such an interesting piece - great characters. 4 actors, about 2 dozen characters!! The over-the-top great character actress, Caroline Aaron, plays several. It's quite a feather in our cap.

And we've extended the run of the West Coast premiere of Four Places - continues to sell out the house - a cash cow!! For our late-night series, we just opened west coast premiere of very strange little play, called MilkMilkLemonade. Wow...

Jane, what a cute story!! Sherlock is so good!!!

No, you don't know these friends - actually, HE is the friend from 1969 - was in LA during that time on a show. He is the one who told me to take voice lessons,, which would make me more employable as an actress. Took me to his voice teacher. Then he headed back to NY... I stayed at his NY place on my way to and from Italy. Then, when I flew from LA to NY for my Juilliard audition in '72, I stayed at his place again. We have been very close, lo, all these years. He was there for my Juilliard recitals, all my NY shows, my NY City Opera debut and most of the operas I did there... He hooked up with Ann about 15 years ago - they have been here at the cabin together... they travel together every summer... when I told them I was selling, they actually DID consider buying -- but, as they said - we live in NY...
