I visited CostCo yesterday. I was mindful, as I always am, that I needed to stick to buying only one or two items -- things that prompted my visit in the first place.
And then it happened.
I walked in...and was immediately assembled/assailed/assaulted by a prominent row of iPod products and something that had been festering in my mind immediately came to a head: I needed an iPod for my gym workouts (treadmill time, especially). I have had, for years, an iPod Shuffle....but I don't like having my music shuffled. It's one thing if you've downloaded a series of pop albums...a shuffle can seem like a radio mix.
But classical and Broadway and movie scores don't work well shuffled for me. I need to get into each work and hear it through.
So...I bit the bullet. And then another bullet lodged in my teeth and I bought some ear bud-type product that screamed out how wonderful it was.
Sigh.
I spent nine hours yesterday donwloading/charging and syncing music onto the iPod...only to find myself deleting it all and having to start over again. Don't know how or why this happened. Obviously I clicked on something. The second time through I was able to edit some albums I was only interested in hearing a few things from.
Of primary note, however, is that I got into a Burt Bacharach frame of mind and downloaded a 3-CD collection (The Look of Love Collection, I think it's called) AND CD-2 of "Promises, Promises", the Kritzerland release.
Bruce, it's wonderful. I couldn't believe how good it sounds. Amazing...and it's now one of my "can't-get-it-out-of-my-head" scores.
