STUPID SNACKS

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both stupid and a snack, and now it is time for you to post until the stupid cows come home - they're currently snacking on MOO Pies.

TOD:

CD - GLEE Season One
(I am saving my Stu Phillips CD as an investment, but it looks so interesting that I may have to open it!)

DVD - CRY BABY! with Mr Johnny Depp and some first season episodes of SOUTHLAND

I am also reading a book of short stories by Leonard Michaels and HEARTBREAKER by John Meyer who spent a few months with Miss Judy Garland at the end of her life, most distressing and I am not sure I finish it.

Last night's performance of BLITHE SPIRIT was most excellent, with Mr Tim Good as Charles Condomine receiving entrance applause from his colleagues at DePauw University who happened to be in attendance, which was fun.

Cast also received a standing ovation, its first.  Good hearty laughs all through the evening, and only a few line bobbles here and there.

I bought one of these on Monday and it arrived yesterday, not a bad way to listen to records without having to hook the turntable up to the computer - now I only have to do that if I want to make a CD of the LP.

The special item of the day at that site is a similar player that records CD's.

Good morning, all! I went to bed around 9:30 and slept until 6:45 this morning, sao I must have needed the sleep.

This is the week my friends appear on THE GOOD WIFE: both Rebecca Luker and Glory Crampton have been signed to appear in episodes. Yea!

DR JRand59, isn't it great when a performance turns out well? I'm very happy you had a good performance last night. I hope the rest go as well, if not better.

BK, thanks for the update on DR Jose. I'm sorry he lefy and I miss him. I haven't heard a thing from him for several months, and I miss him. I couldn't have got through the bedbug crisis or my diabetic visits to the ER in 2008 without him and I hope that, whatever he may be up to, he's happy. I thought he might have found true love and that was taking up his time.

So, this morning, my first round as an NYU Dental Clinic patient, and this could be grisly. Luckily I have the afternoon to either cope or get drunk. Tonight I'm seeing LEND ME A TENOR with Jon McDevitt, the Scarecrow in last week's WIZARD OF OZ. I bought the tickets for me and Chris, but the band that only seems to play Hanukkah events has a gig, so Chris can't see the comedy and i can't go watch the Gods of Fire in the Village.

TOD:
DVD: Spring Awakening, D.H. Lawrence's SONS & LOVERS, a few others
CD: Waldteufel waltzes, Perry Como, rare BK tracks, Liz Callaway, Rebecca Luker, Jacques Offenbach
  VCR: Smut

Great news on the standing O, DR JRand. Well deserved, I'm sure. Now, when's the tour?

TOD: Haven't had time this week for much and am far, far behind on work, so I've saved "Sherlock Holmes" and "The Informant" for possible weekend viewing. There's "New York, New York" for the DVD. And hopefully a few page of "Beautiful Maria of My Soul" for reading.

Don't think there'll be a brannigan in the weekend for me. At least  I hope not.

Here's a tense shot of Chris in the Hanukkah dreidel spinning contest. Every year he tells me he's going to win and I'm still hoping!

Friday morning greetings!  Today I must make arrangements to deliver a gift from DR Elmore to his sister-in-law Jo and go shopping for all the things I forgot yesterday.  Oh, I also have to visit the vampires lab for a blood test.

So DR Jose has not contacted anybody privately?  That seems very weird to me.  Even if he wanted to leave HHW why would he have to disown his friends here? :(

I hope he's okay and miss his posts here.

DR Elmore - just talked on the phone with Jo and they're getting ready to go camping with the grandkids, so we decided to wait until Sunday evening to make arrangements for me to deliver her gift.

TOD:

DVD:
I picked up the season 1 (actually I think it only lasted one season) set of FRONTIER CIRCUS (John Derek and Richard Jaeckel) so I might dip into that, although I still have two episodes of ROUTE 66 left to watch.

DVR:
THE LOCKET (1946) starring Laraine Day, Brian Aherne, and little Sharyn Moffett (sister of my friend Gregory Moffett).

CD:
Compilation of pop music from around the world.

I DM'ed DR Jose in Twitter after he was missing here a few days early in June.  He answered back that he was simply catching up with things and that he would be back at HHW.  I've pinged him twice more in Twitter since then and received no reply, though I plainly see him tweeting his activities there all the time.  I would gripe about being ignored but I can't exactly throw any stones in that department...

Jrand, no need to save the Stu Phillips CD as an investment - it's our lowest selling CD ever and will probably never sell out, unless Stu takes the rest. :)

But if we're on page one at nine-thirty I will just lock this topic because I cannot remember the last time we were on page one at nine-thirty and it's making me a little nauseous.
