Will DRs MBarnum & JMK be going to see The Brain on the 7th.  That is also DR Danise's birthday.

I know that MBarnum is planning on being there, and hopefully Jed and Ann.  I can't say for sure about JMK.

That isn't funny, the puppy is.  Best part, the antics got her adopted.

the positive is that she was adopted... I am always concerned when animals get out on fields, runwauys, etc

Well, finding that information online is a little difficult, but I assume it will be 8:00 p.m.

Arc is a dreadfully overabused term. In the case of "Promises, Promises," it seems to want to make the show into a show that it isn't/wasn't/doesn't need to be. The story is about the man, whose name I forget, not about Fran. It's like wanting to beef up Anna Karenina's husband's character because he doesn't get enough stage time/page time.

Of course, the producers of this revival may want to make "Promises" about Fran because Sean Hayes isn't strong enough, but that's not the fault of the authors.

So, every year there is the Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI). http://ragbrai.com/

It's starting in Sioux City this year. There are thousands of people who ride across the state on bicycles.  It lasts a week. Anyway, the hotel rooms in town were gone the day the announcement was made that it starts here, so residents are asked to host riders.

My brother has friends from Illinois who do the trip every year.  They have a bus, and tents etc.  So he asked if I'd mind them camping in my yard.  After I said yes, I found out there are 25 people in their group!!!  Then a couple friends asked if they could camp here too. I figure what's the difference between 25 and 30, so.... on July 24, there will probably be close to 30 people camping in my yard, grilling out back and having a few beers.

It should be a blast.  Plus it will be a huge incentive for me to get the rec room in the basement totally finished.  It won't take much, but if the weather turns bad, I'll need a place for 30 people to go.

Don't forget to allow a couple of days to recover ;)  I bet you will have a fun time.  Kitties won't though ;)  Will you lock them in your bedroom with a do not disturb sign?

I really don't expect people to be in the house much.  But yes, I'll have the cats locked in the bedroom. I'll makes sure no one lets them out. They'll be a bit freaked out, but the crowd will be gone before 7:00 or 8:00 AM so it won't be too bad,.

There will also be a big free concert and party downtown.  There are vendors of all sorts and they will all want to dip their tires in the Missouri river as is the tradition (at the end of the ride they dip a tire in the Mississippi).  So while some of the group will likely hang out here, the others may be out riding around on their bikes, going to the concert etc.  So I won't really even be entertaining

Won't they be coming in the house to use the bathroom?

Yes. But with the layout of the house, I can shut a couple doors and separate the area where the cats will be from the doors to come in and out for the bathroom. And I'll shut the door to the bedroom where the cats have food, litter and their toys.   It will be fine

I have only seen a handful, or less, of Pixar movies but at this point I would pick FINDING NEMO as my favorite.

Ohmigod! I actually agree with DR MBarnum on something.
I like Finding Nemo and Shark Tale... Toy Story is not too bad

SHARK TALE is not a Pixar film.

It's a bit weird for me to have this many people I don't know coming and going from my house, but they have stayed at my brother's house in the past and at my parents' house in the past.  So, I'm really not concerned about them

I went down and watched the three Tennessee Williams one acts which are also a bonus feature on THE FUGITIVE KIND DVD. Ben Gazarra and Lee Grant are in the first "Mooney's Kid Don't Cry." The second is "The Last of My Solid Gold Watches" with Gene Sacks in a supporting role. The third and most famous is "This Property Is Condemned" with Zina Bethune.

Then I started fiddling with my cable box/DVR. I didn't need to fiddle for very long. For some reason, I guess it just needed a period of adjustment (a Tennessee Williams reference) because it's now working flawlessly. But, oh boy, those new channel locations are going to be a ROYAL PAIN to put into my head. I had all my favorite places memorized, and none of them are in the same locations any more.

I went to SHowtime On Demand and watched the NURSE JACKIE episode which was aired on Monday when my cable box was DOA. Good episode. I loved what Jackie did with the patient who was so nauseous from chemo and all of the anti-nausea medication he was using that was only making him sicker.

Next, I pulled up last week's NCIS: LA episode, the one with LL Cool J as an MMA fighter. Not much of a mystery but an OK episode. I like the new cast member.

Then I tuned into LOST for tonight's episode.

Another one where the sideways world and the real world are showing some intersects. It's exciting seeing this happen though for me this episode didn't have quite the impact of last week's episode.

And I ended my evening welcoming back the wonderful GLEE. Jonathan Groff is gorgeous and his voice is a wonderful addition to the show. I wanted Matthew Morrison to sing "Hello Again" on his own, so that disappointed me a little.

I did get a late afternoon UPS delivery: I LOVE LUCY: The Movie (and other rareties). Looks like an excellent package, and it's going to be my work project for tomorrow.
