Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Dance.
I decided to try on the coat when I first directed the show in 1994.
What a coinkydink! Tonight, I'm going to see Capital Playhouse's production of this very show!
And now, I'm off to the theater. Be back later!
Tonight, I went to see a local production of
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. For the most part, it was very good. The narrator, Melissa, is a friend of mine and she can
sing! She played Evita when she was in high school and even back then she could
sing. The only problem was the sound. All the actors had mics over their ears but it seemed liked they didn't have the mics far enough forward to really pick up their voices, so it was hard to hear some of them over the band. Other than that (when I could hear them), it was very good. Nice, simple costumes (except for Joseph's coat in the finale...it was huge!), the set was very colorful and they were very inventive with doors. This show is so popular that they've extended the run!
