I'm back from New York.  My flight was delayed, but not by too much, fortunately.

DR JoseSPiano--as a matter of fact, I got the bus for Newark Airport right across from Bryant Park, but I hadn't read your post until just now.   Since I'm not sure about a lot of the inside information yet, what "monkey" are you referring to?

Thanks again to Ben and Anthony --they even swiped their Metro Cards at the subway for me (both ways!).  Yes, the yule log was on the TV---they have a very cozy apartment and make good use of space.

Ben--I had to laugh when I got home and saw a package from BC/EFA.  I had ordered a t-shirt and cap for a friend in California.  I looked at the return address and of course it was 165 W 46th St. I guess I could have picked them up yesterday!

TOD: I would most like to have Barbra Streisand's autograph.

I have many signed Playbills (Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Daniel Radcliffe, Patti LuPone, Angela Lansbury, among others.)   I have Hugh Jackman's , but it's just a scribble.  I guess the one I treasure the most is by Dame Judi Dench.

Needless to say I have signed CDs from Brent Barrett and also the Phantom Las Vegas program signed by the entire cast (with both Phantoms at the time, Brent and Anthony Crivello).

DR JANE general consensus is that a singer named Mike Stewart (who also did some Pogo recordings for Walt Disney) is the singer of the Bat Masterson theme song.

thank you.  it is shocking he and his beautiful voice were not credited.

thank you dakota.  PT went well.  well means there has been progression in my range of motion, much of it with less pain too.  i have a couple of additional exercises to do at home, one which is a bit scary & painful.

The good news is that my doctor was very pleased with my blood work--cholesterol is low along with my AC1 number.  The bad news is my weight gain but I expected to hear about that.

So on the way home I stopped at a Pathmark market to pick up a few things and lo and behold, they were offering H1N1 shots.  I thought, "Why the heck not?" so I filled out the paperwork, forked over $15, bared my manly shoulder and got innoculated. I feel very trendy!

good news on the cholesterol results.  i hope you can get the other problem under control.

For all you western-based folk: on Katy Couric's program, Julian Lennon talks about his new song written for his childhood friend Lucy who inspired "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds." It's quite lovely.

Oy, the back and forth on this house is maddening.  At this point, it looks like we may (emphasis:  may) have a deal, but it hinges on the bank accepting the reduced price offer and then Betsy and me putting funds for repairs into an escrow account, which will then be utilized by the bank (which will still own the house at that point) to make said repairs in order to make the house loan worthy.

Huh? You pay for the repairs and they still own the house?

The way it has to work is this:  we agree on a price (that should happen by tomorrow).  Then we get an appraisal.  We know going in the appraiser is going to at least recommend, if not outright require, a new roof.  At that point, we put the funds into escrow to re-roof the house, the bank actually hires the contractor (since they still own the house), the roof is put on, and then the loan closes.  Then we own the house.  Kind of.  ;)

What if something happens between the time they sign a contract with a roofer and pay him with your money and the closing?

My former neighbor has a story. He signed the papers to sell his house and the buyers were going to sign in the morning. Overnight there was a summer monsoon microburst that blew half of the roof off and into the neighbor's house and yard. Deal off.

Yes, they will use the contractors we stipulate and the price we agree to, it's just that technically they need to hire them as they are the titled owners of the property.

I used to think that I had three or four of these trolls following me, but I'm pretty well convinced it's always her.  The style is just too similar to be coincidence.

ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN KISS MY A*S - that's the title of my next musical about Extra-Sensitive Perception

Will it be filmed in 3D?

I feel that dear reader Sandra has abandoned us.

And I would like to know the last time S. Woody graced this site.

I just re-read the first part of today's topic of discussion:

Quote
If you could own any autograph in the world, whose would it be and why would that one be the one you’d want?

If I could own any autograph that I don't already have, it would have to be the autograph of the very one, the very only...Mr. Stephen Sondheim.  I have been a fan of his music for many, many, many (that's three manys) years.  I know several people here already have it, but I don't.  Sigh.

Someday.

;)

So that is why you took a picture of his butt when you saw him in person?
