My new bank/debit/credit card came today, thank the lord! Maybe I can get a couple of things ordered before they go off sale.

Can I send you a list of things to pick up for me?

Would that I could!

I did get my friend Jeff's Christmas gifts ordered and I got some preorders switched to be paid with the new number once they're filled.

That is a BIG load off my mind.

Today is Mr Ron Raines' birthday. I just spoke to him. He and Dona are off to dinner with family.

I've been thinking about dinner, too. And pie.

They say it might snow here in Austin on Friday.

I haven't been in snow since I left Seattle in 1963.

I meant to mention this morning when I was talking about RAISING THE BAR being canceled that THREE RIVERS was also canceled by CBS. Alas.

CBS should have stuck by Alex O'Loughlin's MOONLIGHT. If they had waited a season, TWILIGHT would have hit, and they would have had their own launch pad for starting their own vampire saga full tilt.

Now that he's free, I wonder if CBS would consider doing a TV-movie with Mick St. John and company. I haven't noticed any of those actors being hired for any other regular TV work.

the joys of having a pool, not ones i remember fondly.

When your mobile and mending you would really enjoy a pool.

der Brucer

The natural buoyancy provided by the pool water lets you exercise a healing shoulder with out it having to bear the weight of the entire arm.

i liked the pt people at the hospital and have decided to try the therapists from their group.  they use the ymca, including the saline filled pool.  i can't tolerate the chemicals in a regular chlorine filled pool.

According to my Futurama calendar, today is also Georges Seurat's birthday!  If he were still alive, he'd be 150 years old today! :D

Pink-undie joy may come to Arizona!

CQ

Quote
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and former Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R) -- two of conservatives' favorite anti-illegal immigration firebrands and potential 2010 candidates for statewide office in Arizona -- have teamed up to raise more than $100,000 as part of a holiday party being held Dec. 5.

A recent poll from Rasmussen Reports showed Arpaio leading all comers in the Arizona governor's race, while Hayworth is in a statistcal tie with Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in a hypothetical primary match-up.
...

Imagine all the press Governor Joe would get!

Back from Fed Ex - I've said it before but now I MEAN it - I will never again use this shipping service.  For the FOURTH bloody time this year they've raised their rates again.  The same exact package I shipped three weeks ago now costs TEN dollars more.  I hope these people slowly go out of business.  They are cocky, don't treat their customers well, and need to go away.  If people get upset enough and start using other services (almost all of whom are now cheaper) then perhaps they'll realize just how stupid they've been, and my only hope is that by the time they realize it that it's too bloody late.  And that's bloody that.

I noticed that the DGA is screening Red Cliff (tonight or tomorrow, can't remember now) - and it's this short US version for idiots.  And that's what they're trying to get nominated of an Oscar.  The film makes no sense, is missing 140 minutes of footage from the two-part original and is a travesty.  As long as it took me to figure out who everyone was and their deals in the first one, once I got past that twenty minutes or so, I knew everything and then it was very easy to follow.  By making these awful wholesale cuts (basically the first forty-five minutes that follow the first scene of the film are gone, maybe more.  They try to help by putting in awful narration and on-screen title cards for characters, but it actually makes it harder to understand, and, of course, all motivations and history and character development are shot to hell.  Shame on them.  I just got the score CD and it's wonderful.  I did notice that the Asian Blu-Ray release of the separate part one and two are all-region, so anyone can play them.

Jane, stay off the morphine otherwise you'll end up like Katherine Hepburn in Long Day's Journey Into Night.

Or Billie Holliday in "Lady Sings the Blues".

Good Evening!

Well, I never made it out of the apartment, but I did end up spending some time in the kitchen over the past couple of hours.  So, right now, some White Chocolate Brownies are cooling on the table, and some beets, sweet potatoes and carrots are roasting in the oven.  :)

GLEE has a new episode tonight, the penultimate one before the half season finale where the club goes to Sectionals.

Question about GLEE - I've missed the last 2 episodes and not even had time to watch them online.  Is there anything I should know before watching tonight's?

Yes, all but one of the main characters was killed off last week in their musical montage tribute to Columbine.

In other breaking news, I was just stopped and questioned by the police as I walked down to get Zach from school.  They let me know the neighborhood is full of undercover cops right now.

Did they give you any hints as to how they decide whom they stop?

What sort of bells and whistles did you/do you set off?
