MAD MEN had the most nominations for any drama - 16. 30 ROCK had the most for comedy - 22.

I began my evening of viewing with ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN (which was the second ICE AGE film). Perfectly pleasant with some Loony Tunes-like blackout comedy sketches with a squirrel and an acorn. But it's clear the film isn't in the same league with originality or heart as the Pixar gems.

Next I watched one of my favorite dramas of the last 10 years - 16 BLOCKS on Blu-ray. Always enjoy revisiting this movie.

Then I watched another NCIS episode. This was the one where two naval officers changed identities and one of them gets killed which leads to some big misunderstandings when trying to identify who was who.

Holy moley on rye - I'm so glad I've missed the Emmys all these years.  I don't know what's happened to my old pal Kristin but she was very phony baloney up there with the faux tears (well, there were no actual tears, just the quivering voice).  One of the days my other old pal Jane will finally win an award.

And exactly where are they?  What kind of barn are they taping the show in - and the "set" is awful.

Then I started skimming through the Emmys. I ended up watching more than I expected to since Neil's opening number was so entertaining and the first two awards went to surprise winners (not repeat winners).

Of course, as things turned out, there were a good many repeat winners from last year, but there were enough new faces to keep me watching down to the bitter end. All of the last four winners were repeats from last year.

Well, she did win the Tony against formidable competition for NINE.

I'm probably not going to last long and will undoubtedly go back to another episode of Mad Men.  I'm finding the second season more interesting, as I said, and I think part of the reason is that the episodes seem a little more connected to each other.

I will also say that one character was so poorly cast that it almost killed the episodes in which he appeared - the guy who plays the comic - the guy who was also on Lost (didn't like him there either).  Why they couldn't get someone who was actually funny when he was supposed to be is the question.  This guy was just awful - unfunny, no charisma, and therefore no interest on my part.

She was given slightly more to do this season on 30 ROCK, but it's hard for her to compete with actresses who have much larger roles on their shows than she has on 30 ROCK. Kristin was lucky enough to be on an hour long show labeled a comedy and given a really big part of the forlorn, unrequited lover who got to sing as well as act.

DR Jane, anytime you want some home-style blueberry pancakes, c'mon over to my house.

I would love to.  If only Craig had found a job in Pittsburgh.  Maybe this will be the week he finds one in DC.  He has a 2nd interview on Thursday.  FINGERS CROSSED!

I'll be glad to. It had already won some craft awards last weekend. Tonight it won

Best Drama Series

none of its actors won:

John Slattery lost to Michael Emerson of LOST
Elizabeth Moss lost to Glenn Close of DAMAGES
Jon Hamm lost to Bryan Cranston of BREAKING BAD

Now I'm heading down to bed. I have PT tomorrow (though late in the morning which will be helpful if I can sleep in).

Good night!

I just remembered that I have laundry to do.  Fortunately, it's all very close, so I can do it all during commercials...like right now.

Yes, the "Reality" host winner does have very deep dimples.

CRAAAAAAAAP!!!!  I set my DVR to record the Emmy Awards for a friend.  I've been watching them from the beginning and just before the show started, I got the "Your recording has started" message displayed on my TV screen.  I just checked to make sure that "Drop Dead Diva" is also recording (it just started) and I saw that there was no recording listed in my "My Recordings" list!  What the hell?? :P

The winner for miniseries director, Dearbhla (pronounced der-VILL-a) Walsh thanked her partner and said "it looks like the three of us in the bed tonight." ;D

Hope everyone had a good week.

I must be feeling better, at 9PM I finally had a craving for food.  IN-N-OUT, double meat (well done), lettuce, tomato, onion, only.  And a chocolate shake.

Maybe I overdid it a little bit, but I ate the whole thing (minus one bun).
