I'm up - had a good night's sleep with an odd dream - not unpleasant, just odd.

Here are a few of my very favorite Bollywood movie posters.

STATE EXPRESS (1938)

SECRET 5   (1939)

ANJAM   (1968)

MattH - just wondering why the Peggy story line irritated you - so far it hasn't bothered me, mostly because I was so fascinated by the weight gain look, but then I haven't seen the last two episodes of season one.  Much as I find the leading man and Sterling somewhat repulsive, the one who irritates me the most is Pete Campbell, which means, I suppose, he's written and acted well.  I really like the gal who plays what I would call the Edie Adams role - Joan.

I'm going to try and jog in about thirty minutes, then go pick up the tapes, then go to do some errands, and then maybe take the tapes to the transfer guy.

I don't think the original 1925 NO NO NANETTE artwork says much about the show

but I also don't think the 1971 revival did either, although Hillary Knight's poster evokes a certan bubbly quality for period revues like the Follies and the Scandals:

I was actually going to mention NO NO NANETTE but I didn't care for the only decent image I could find:

It's incredibly eyecatching in it's original silver tones and full rich purples.

It's a great poster that says little about the production in 1971 or that it's a book musical; it essentially says "20s revues of glamorous girls in very little clothing." I chose the album cover over the poster because I couldn't find a better image either!

George is here and the chaos is worse!

I am curious as to what posters HHWers actually have hanging on their walls? I am sure that JRand, JMK, Ron Pulliam, and BK likely have some displayed.

I used to have many movie posters on the walls before I began collecting illustration art.  I think there's only one left - no, two, no, three.  Still hanging in the den is a locandina (small Eyetalian poster) for the reissue of my favorite Fellini, The White Sheik - the 1960 reissue art is my favorite on this film, and I've had all of it including the large original release Eyetalian.  One wall still has the large UK poster for Nudie Musical, and in the kitchen I have the window card for the NY showing of Scent Of Mystery - no actual posters were made for the film - just window cards.

All of over my house in various nooks and crannies are many, many, many posters of Frances Farmer films.

The Belgian posters back in that day had the most beautiful paintings.  During the war years, they were frequently printed on the back of maps!

I used to hang and rotate posters from various shows wherever I lived, but when I moved into where I'm living now, I painted and I liked the clean empty look and never put anything up.

I've known George for 30 years and I think his mind's starting to go. He walked out of here 30 minutes ago and I have no idea where he's gone to! I just want to get this job finished, paid for, and everything off the floor.

Thursday afternoon greetings!  I've been up since before dawn, but spent this morning helping to administer a certification exam for grantwriters.  The rules are very strict about what's allowed in the room and what's not and I didn't want to sully the environment by being online (even though I'm not taking the test).  Now they're taking the second phase of the exam and I'm at the registration table in the hallway.

My sister has a middle room that served at one time as a playroom for my neice when she was a youngen.  My neice and my sister papered the walls and ceiling with posters of E.T., The Muppets, Star Wars, Smurfs, Snoopy, John Travolta and lots of tigers (they love tigers), along with some school art projects and family photos.  Close to thirty years later, it's all still up there.  My sister can't bring herself to remove any of it.

A couple of years ago I sold off a lot of my vintage original movie posters as I needed the dough and they were all just sitting in boxes, most hadn't seen the daylight in 20 years.

On my walls at home are:

Original one sheet: ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE
Original inserts for HOT CAR GIRL and SORORITY GIRL
Original one sheet for THE HYPNOTIC EYE

and in the bedroom I have half sheets of HIGH POWERED RIFLE, POLICE NURSE, and DOUBLE JEOPARDY.

At work I have the 20 x 30 poster for the 1946 Bollywood filmi FLYING PRINCE and the 1960 Bollywood film REPORTER RAJU.

I watched EARTH vs THE SPIDER last night.  I like this movie a lot.  Mr B I G was a very efficient director/producer, and his casts were always excellent.

Even though June Kenney was the MOST annoying girlfriend ever, and most of the teenagers in the River Falls High School must have been held back several years....

Also noticed that a lot of the exteriors were filmed at Universal....the small town lot, and the Beaver Cleaver street.  Ed Kemmer drives past what would become the Munster House.....and the spider walks around the neighborhood, too....although the Cleaver house is dressed as it was for THE UNGUARDED MOMENT.

No I understand the problems George is having: my apartment buiding was a jointure of two separate buildings in the 1960s and the wall the bookcases are against is the outside side wall of the original building, so my neighbor's apartment has the outside wall of the other building. George is running into construction complications, like steel plates, etc. from the 1960 construction that make it impossible for him to use as anchor spots. Luckily, the crucial part of the bookcases has been secured, but a couple of spots along the way will only make things more solid. If he can find them! The wall behind the bookcases is beginning to look like Swiss cheese as he drills holes to see what's feasible.
