I have five more episodes and then I'll be finished with THE UNTOUCHABLES. I doubt I'll request any of the other boxes of it for review. The show is pleasant, but very repetitive. I can see why it only ran 4 years where something like PERRY MASON ran 9.

THE UNTOUCHABLES had couple of great episodes, both 2-parters.  I don't recall the titles, but one of them dealt with an attempt to break Al Capone off of a prison train to Alcatraz, and the other had to do with an assassination attempt on President-elect FDR that killed the mayor of Chicago.  Not sure about the first one, but the second was based on an actual incident.

Wouldn't that be a recording you need?  Since our doorbell rarely rings I have no idea when it will happen again even if I had a recording device.

I can't remember the first trip I took.  There were small trips to Palm Springs, San Diego, Laguna, Arrowhead, Tahoe & San Francisco.

Shortly after I turned 8 my parents took us on the only big trip as a family.  For Christmas Vacation we flew to Mexico City.  The pilot let us go into the cockpit during the night time approach to the city.  It was exciting and beautiful.  Why we were so lucky I have no idea.

Mexico City was wonderful; eating fresh sugar cane at the plantation, climbing the pyramids , the floating gardens, the food, the giant mosaic Aztec Calendar, and the huge flea market.  Of interest was the Jewish country club we visited, done on the insistence of one of my father's patients.  My father also wanted us to see how the less fortunate population lived and to observe the people on their knees as they went to church.  Some of the people doing this were really old & I did not need to hear the contempt in my father's voice to think this was very wrong.

From Mexico City we drove to the quaint old silver mining town of Taxco where the women still washed their clothing in the center of town.  The hotel and the largest toy train set up I had ever seen.  He seemed much smaller when I was there than looking at photos today.

We continued on to Acapulco where I water skied for the first time, broke my first pinata, swam all day & ruined my father's fishing trip when I got sea sick.

Except for the fishing trip & the flight back to Mexico City (talk about sick!) it was wonderful.

the wires are ancient and I think that's the problem

In that case, wouldn't a wireless doorbell work better?
Yes, but I didn't know that it would only dong until I installed the wired one.  As long as I can tell when someone is at the door, I really don't care for now.

Or a good old fashioned knocker!

That is not a Hooters joke!

There is an entry way with another solid wood door.  I usually don't hear people knocking.

This afternoon I also primed the old school desk I'm working on for Gabe.  I'm going to paint it and put the dry erase paint on the desk top tomorrow if the weather holds.  Hopefully that will be all I need to do.

There will be alot of the dry erase paint left over, so I'm thinking about making a couple dry erase boards.  Don't know what I'll do with them, but it would be a shame to waste it.   I guess I could put a little one in the kitchen to make grocery lists.

I have returned from helping Marnie print, assemble, and bind a vocal score and a full orchestra score for Life Begins at 8:40, which I shall Fed Ex on Monday to the LoC contractor for the reading.

I trust you will invoice for the extra work. (Not that they'll pay it)

der Brucer

I most certainly will! I won't even tell you how long it took them to pay PS Classics for a job.

I need to defrost my refrigerator, which I may do tomorrow while i'm doing my laundry.

I just finished writing up a history of the restoration of Life Begins At 8:40 from 2005 till now; I plan to pass out several copies at the reading. If I am being set up to scapegoat, I want all the people there who do not know me to know that 80 percent opf the restoration is from me and my mighty team and not the others taking current charge.

Went ahead and bought the new tv today.  Ended up getting a 42" Philips, which was on sale, plus I had a bunch of coupons, so I got it for around $600.  I honestly thought I'd be getting a Samsung, but when I went in and saw the Philips side by side playing the same thing, I couldn't tell a difference, and just didn't feel like spending an extra $400 for something 2" shorter (there's a joke in there that I'm sure someone can develop).

I went to post another couple of packages and decided to just have another Subway turkey sandwich, which I didn't really want, but which was very convenient.  But - they were out of turkey.  So, I immediately called a friend who lives in the nabe and she met me at Hugo's and I had a nice, relaxing pasta papa and half salad.  It was very good, and now I shall sit on my couch like so much fish.

I'm trying to decide if I want to see The Time Traveler's Wife.  I liked the book but haven't heard anything good about the movie...oh bother.   Maybe I'll start cleaning the basement instead

But first....I bought some fresh raspberries (picked yesterday) at the farmer's market.  I'm going to have them on some vanilla ice cream.   I love raspberries!

I glanced at this while reading DR Cilla's post & thought you were commenting on her artistic abilities ;D

I didn't even know they sold dry erase paint.

Having one's "something"  2" shorter is no joking matter.

Neither did I!   I was going to do blackboard paint and the Home Depot guy said "Well you could do dry erase"  and showed it to me.   How cool is that.  The package has enough to do a 7' x 7' area so, I'm trying to think of other wasy to use it

I'm watching a movie I DVR'd.  It's actually something I could do the soundtrack for, if I found something fun to couple it with.

Poor Craig, the weather in his current city & his soon to be new city both look pretty bad.  I hope he had a break from the bad weather somewhere between the two locations.

I want to check how he is doing, yet don't want to be a pest of a mother when he is so busy.  True I can text Ioana who is home watching the pets except she did say she would let me know when they are all moved, and she will.

And let's start with the excellent vibes and xylophones for a safe, worry-free, on-time, flight, and NO RAIN in New York, Newark, or anywhere nearby, preferably for the entire trip, but most importantly for tomorrow and then Thursday and Friday.
