So, DR Jeanne, are you planning on becoming permanently homeless in Florida?    ;)

What a brilliant composer Andre Previn was in his Hollywood days.

And how much his "classical" voice suffers from his turning his back on that Hollywood voice!

I wonder if he has as many "voices" as I hear in my head?

No. Though you're right about there being worse places. Winters are just lovely, the people are relaxed and friendly, and housing prices are unbelievably low. But no.

I've got the Blu-ray discs of "From Russia With Love" and "Thunderball" to watch this weekend.  I watched "Dr. No" last weekend, and the Blu-ray of the movie is incredible.  It looks like a new moviel

I took advantage of an Amazon offer a couple of weeks back (I think it was "Buy three Blu-ray Bond films and get a fourth one free").  I pre-ordered "Quantum of Solace" and "Goldfinger" (both of which come out next week).  I decided to get the other three Bonds (one was in addition to the deal) so that I could have all the Connery Bonds currently available on Blu-ray.

The only others that I'll get, probably, are "Diamonds Are Forever" and, my favorite Bond film, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".

So what's my sparkling prize for guessing SweetIrma's ID?  Maybe BK could send me a copy of that Ogerman Latin Rock CD he promised me oh, so long ago (hint, hint, nudge, nudge, say n'more).

On His Majesty's was the first Bond film I ever saw. I think I was more interested in Diana Rigg than George Lazenby. Diamonds was my second Bond film I ever saw.

I think I saw Live and Let Die next and then backtracked.

UA release Dr. No, From Russia With Love and Goldfinger as a TRIPLE BILL.

Then UA released a DOUBLE BILL of Thunderball and You Only Live Twice.

If memory serves under Quebec's old film rating system the movies were 14 years and over, but I was younger but looked 14 so I got in.

There are certainly some anal retentive folk on CASTRECL (present company excluded, of course).  Though I was chastised on the GOING TO POT studio cast for somewhat the same thing, for having the audacity to credit myself as composer, producer, and arranger.  Guess what?  I paid for the damned thing, I'll credit myself any way I see fit.  :)

If I had the booklet to ANYA, perhaps I could work myself up into a snit about it, too.  ;)

MEDIA:

Scanned through the BDs of THE ROBE (looks generally good, but I have to say I found the flesh tones a bit muddy for my taste) and GULLIVER's TRAVELS (I guess it's fine they reframed it 1.78:1, but why not include the original version as well?).  Also finished a great BD of a Jeff Beck concert I had to review, as well as Criss Angel Mindfreak, another review chore.

CDs:  I have a stack I'm whittling down, including the lovely Joni Mitchell/Vince Mendoza collaboration TRAVELOGUE, as well as some OCRs from days of yore.  Not including a certain Musical Musical.

Sorry I haven't been around much.  My stamina levels are not what they were. Even though I am only working part time I am exhausted when I get home and I have been falling asleep  for several hours once i get back home

I think this was expected.  Rest when you need to and you will improve faster.

Hello, all.

No, that's all right.  Don't get up.  Please.

TOD:

About a year ago, being unable to decide what CD I wanted to listen to, I ambarked on a project of going through my CDs in the somewhat alphabetic order in which they are shelved.  It took me almost exactly a year to get through vocalists, A to Z.  At the beginning of this year I started on Musicals (non-Sondheim).

The good news is discovering joys that I had forgotten.  The bad news is sticking to the program and playing the whole album when it is a tedious stinkeroo.

Well, about TOD:  I'm up to the C's in Musicals (non-Sondheim) and halfway through A Chorus Line, Original German Cast.  The security guards were staring when I pulled into the parking lot at work at 6:00 this morning with "Gar Nichts" ("Nothing") blaring through open windows.  They often stare at me at that hour.

On the way home I'll finish the German and pop in the New Broadway Cast.  I'm not sure what's after that.  That, of course, makes the whole process such fun.  And no decisions to make.

My comment was a sarcastic rebuttal to DR Elmore's comment. Seems like one can win around here.

I was only having fun. :)  I do sometimes get confused who made which comment when multiple quotes are up at once.

Keith & I agree with your comments regarding LIFE.  It was one of the weaker episodes.
