Is 1900 a milestone?  If so, congrats to Arnold!

It was certainly an interesting year! Greetings from Toyland.

What happened in 1900 that made it so interesting?

Well, for one thing, DR elmore3003 graduated from college!     ;)

Well, it was the start of the Twentieth Century! And you know where that unfortunate movement led.

And wasn't it also the year of your last sexual experience? I read that on a wall somewhere.

I cannot stay here and exchange pleasantries with our DR singdaw or whatever the hell his new nom de plume may be. I've got calls of a similar nature to make elsewhere.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I'm already at the rehearsal studio.  Should be a fun morning: Roger de Bris and Carmen Ghia.

BK, guess we'll have to start calling you BKGA, Bruce Kimmel Good Actor.  Caught John Pleshette on a rerun of Curb Your Enthusiasm last night.  You'll be happy to know he's gotten rather puffy and pot-bellied.  No Abs of Steel.  Again, great tales.  Didn't Bobby Hoffman later become a casting director?  The Lovely Wife says do not eat too much crab Louis at lunch today.

Right now, I'm making a DVD of "Light in the Piazza" that I recorded on TCM.  I also have the musical version "The Light in the Piazza" from PBS on my DVD burner and will make a DVD of that soon. :)

I set my DVR to catch that broadcast, too, and I was watching when it started, and there are SO many digital artifacts (and the print they used was less than optimum, too) that I knew I wouldn't enjoy watching the movie on a homemade DVD. This is definitely a film that's going to require an anamoirphic transfer to get the best possible chance at decent picture quality. So I stopped the recording and just deleted it.

Dante's Cove.

Love your description of it, DR Michael S.!!!!  :D

DR Matt H. has posted about this in some detail.

Yes, I have. And I have the season 3 set sitting on the counter amid huge stacks of other unopened DVDs. When I'll find the time to watch any of them is another story.

Good morning!

It's a dreary, bleak day here. Very cold and started raining an hour or so ago, so it's the antithesis of the summer weather we've been having. Supposed to be like this all weekend. Yuck!

Because we are in the midst of the ACC Basketball tournament, none of the CBS shows tonight are being shown in their regular timeslots for me. The CBS affiliate will broadcast them in the wee small hours of the morning (but not in HD which REALLY makes me furious). So, the only TV I'll be watching tonight will be shows on the DVR (in HD) recorded earlier this week.

I also missed yesterday's AS THE WORLD TURNS since the tournament preempted afternoon programming, too. I think the affiliate will play those shows during the early morning hours during the weekend.

My work project today (and maybe into tomorrow) is the TV box set for ANDY RICHTER CONTROLS THE UNIVERSE. It only ran one half season, and NBC didn't show all of the episodes. I think I watched about five or six of these when the show was on. The box contains the entirety of the filmed episodes. It was kind of fun, so I'll look forward to seeing it again and also the unaired episodes which will be new to me.

Friday morning greetings!  With it being Friday the 13th and with the full moon we've had this week, I sure am glad not to have to work at the library today!

John Pleschete?

There was a character actor back in the 1940s-50s with the same name.  He was short, stocky, usually played cops or heavies.

Any relation?

Heading down now to get cleaned up to go out on my usual Friday errands. The miserable weather and temps make it a daunting task today.

Pogue, I saw him on that episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm - he gave me the willies, but he was sort of perfect for the part.  Bobby Hoffman did indeed become a casting director.

I'm up, I think the sky is blue but I keep forgetting it's really seven-thirty so the sun hasn't had time to give off any heat yet.
