ABC is also presenting one hour (presumably the last hour) from last week's LOST season premiere in the 8 p.m. hour. I assume also that they'll have the pop-up facts attached to the show.

The carpeters have arrived. Three hours late. Even at three hours late, they were argumentative about coming up the driveway. . .which had been salted and salted and scraped. . .inclines scare some people. . .but, they made it up, the guys are on their knees and the old dining room carpet has already disappeared. . . .

Jackson rented from my Uncle Charlie for years. At Charlie's funeral somebody told a hilarious anecdote--Jackson had been down on his luck and was unable to pay rent, which was never really a problem for Charlie (he carried scores of actors, artists and musicians through his life until they got on their artistic feet). Anyhoo, Charlie asked Jackson out to a bar where they both got royally p****ed, with Jackson going back to his studio (it was unclear if that was in the apartment or not) and throwing paint all over a canvas on the floor, thus starting one of the seminal artistic movements of the mid-20th century.

They repeated that story in the little bio of Charlie that was published when his Foundation was started.

We actually got more rain than snow here. After the initial evening blast of snow, rain hit by midnight, freezing rain. Even at 8am today, our roads were clear, wet, but clear and our the snow fall mixed with rain on our driveway was starting to melt where the salt crystals were.

I think I did write a Christmas song once, back when I was living in Santa Monica, but I don't remember it at all, have no idea what cassette tape it would be on (I was VERY bad about not labeling things back then) and would have to search for even a lyric sheet.
