There was a BIG inflatable yard ornament of Santa and Rudolph dancing.....today when I drove by, it was losing air, and Santa and Rudolph were wrestling on the ground.  Most unseemly.

Not as unseemly as the two lighted reindeer that have been posed in a mating position (probably by prankster teenagers while the parents are out of town!)

A Very Very Happy Birthday to our own BK! I remember his last birthday (well, I mean, his birthday last year) very fondly and felt lucky to be one of the celebrants!

The TOD has reminded me that I packed all my Christmas CDs when we moved...they may be in storage.

My current favorite songs are:
Christmas Night in Harlem-Johnny Mercer & Jack Teagarden with Paul Whiteman
What shall We Bring-Morman Tabernacle Choir
Mr. Grinch-Ru Paul
Zat You, Santa Claus?-Louis Armstrong

I have lots of Christmas CD's I love, including the Klezmonaut's Christmas album, "Oy to the World", Blue Yule, Dave Brubeck's Christmas album, and the Alligator Records Christmas compilation.

The Smoke House brings back memories...

Specifically of the scandalously orange cheese bread...

Yes---I think that was my favorite part of the meal when we at there with Richard Sherman. That stuff is DANGEROUS!

Is "Chestnuts" just called The Christmas Song?

The Song Was Written by MEL TORME

Yes it is...I know I"m talking to myself but I do that all the time....Here's Nat King Cole"s version

Back from a brisk long jog.  If anyone had asked me one year ago that at sixty-one years of age I'd be jogging four miles every day, I would have laughed - laughed, I tell you - laughed in their face, and yet here I am, doing four miles a day.  Kind of chilly out, but the sun is still trying its best to shine through.

One of the benefits of being an "Executive Member" of CostCo is that you get to start shopping an hour earlier than the hoi and the polloi.

So why did the Cassawary cross the road?

(Not to be confused with the Emu or the Ostrich which have their own reasons).

BTW - I have never seen a Cassawary.  They only dwell in Queensland Rainforests and in Papua/New Guinea.

Because that's where the pub was and he was thirsty?

Amazon has alerted me that my Blu-ray copy of "The Dark Knight" is en route.

It is shipping out of Fernley, Nevada...so with luck, I'll have it tomorrow!

Mine has shipped as well. I can't expect it until Wednesday at the earliest, however. That's OK. I have more than enough to find to amuse me.

DR Ron Pulliam, do you remember that DVD of LIFE ON MARS you were kind enough to send me on Nov 22? Well, it finally arrived in today's mail! I had been wondering what had happened to it.

DR tomovoz, thank you for the beautiful calendar!
