DR Druxy I have found our cats become more demanding of affection when they lost their companions. Grouchy cats were suddenly much friendlier. When you say demanding, do you mean she wants you to pet, play & cuddle with her more? Most of the cats just cried or rammed their heads into us for affection. Gently pawing at us was also a method of getting attention. What exactly do you mean by demanding?
Does your cat have any soft cuddly catnip toys? That might help her.
A catnip toy is an excellent idea. We'll try that. Thanks.
By "demanding," I mean that when she wants your attention, you'd better give it to her, or she'll hit, not "gently paw," you. She's done that to me a couple of times...after I've fed her...and I'm trying to get another 40 winks of sleep.
Last night, my dog (Missy) who has been with her for 11-12 years, was lying down, minding her own business when Annie came over, tried to get her attention and, when Missy ignored her, she both nipped her and hit her.
And, yes Annie does ram herself against a closed door if she wants to come in.
