ASK BK DAY QUESTION...

SO , exactly when and where is this Bacarach thing you are doing and is it open to the public?

The benefit is called Bacharach To The Future and will be at New World Stages on Monday, December 1.  Show time is, I think, seven-thirty, but maybe it's eight.  Tickets have been on sale for a month now - I'll post ticket info here as soon as I figure out where it is.

OH!  Look what I found!
http://www.telecharge.com/BehindTheCurtain.aspx?prodid=7059&mode=moreShowInfo

I don't know what my schedule will be like yet - but I would like to be there if I am able to !

Will Guy Haines be making an "appearance"??

;)

more info - and Bruce, who is that singing?

It's Jackie DeShannon.  There's an imbedded player that shows the song and singer right under the big box at the top. :)

Back from hosting a successful brownbag lunch.  We had about 30 people in attendance, which is very good considering that there was a fancy philanthropy luncheon going on several blocks away.

I had always heard that Burt Bachrach wanted Dionne Warwick to record this song, but she wanted to perform other people's work.  It eneded up being a huge hit for Jackie DeShannon (and Burt Bachrach)

I like it!   :)

Almost like "Psycho-Pharmacologist."

Only different.

It looks like I shall be playing one of the three kings in a production of Amahl and the Night Visitors in January.

I have, at one time or another over the years, played all three of the kings - though not at the same time!   :)

OK, Tell the eager world-- who was your favorite?  Melchior, Balthasar or Casper?

I had a wonderful visit with Jo Loesser at the Loesser office, and a nice phone conversation with my sister-in-law Jo about how the closing went. My check is in the mail - hooray! - and I'm thinking that my trip to Ohio will run from Dec 13-Dec 28. That will get me to Miami University to visit before Christmas break, allow me to hang out with Jo and Randy and the family I want to see, and get me back to Manhattan before New Year's eve.  As for work while I'm there, I can ship the BABES IN TOYLAND materials to Ohio, if I've not finished the final edits before leaving, or whatever act of THE MOST HAPPY FELLA I'm on. I'm getting excited about this trip.

and
Mechior [the middle king] is the loveliest to sing

DR Elmore's coming to Ohio - yay!  Want to come to my retirement party on December 15?  Or, would you rather sit by our Christmas tree and fireplace and eat Shaddock's pizza?

That's my problem listening to Berg: how do you know when they're playing a wrong note?

I'm still getting this message at the HTF:

The clouds have finally moved into the area, and it's very greay indeed outside. Colder than I expected, too.

Nope.  The cookies are now being enjoyed by my co-workers and the Hershey miniatures and soft drinks will be served to another group I'm hosting here next Wednesday.

I began my afternoon watching last night's ELI STONE. As usual with this show, I was wiping tears away by the end of the program. I love this show. Seeing Jonny Lee Miller in a shower scene and a shirtless scene later was merely a bonus.

I was one of the shepherds in a college production many years ago.

I was one of the kings in a photograph staged for a "cute" family Christmas card.  We assembled the whole tribe en costume at a Mountain park just outside of the City for the photo.  Fortuitously, earlier that year in arts and crafts I had created this thing out of a soda pop bottle, a pie tin,  ball fringe and papier mache.  I have no idea what it was, but it looked sufficiently exotic photographed in black and white as gift for the Baby Jesus.  I'm sure the sight of us was enough to put the various picnickers at the park off their food!

BONES should be excellent tonight. Booth's handsome brother comes to visit and falls for Brennan. The sibling rivalry should be hilarious, and there's always a pretty interesting murder mystery, too.
