For those who may have missed it yesterday (and it seems there were plenty, since we only had three orders):
And the new Kritzerland limited edition CD is Bernard Herrmann's A Christmas Carol and A Child Is Born. These were both TV specials in the mid-1950s. Both have either narration and/or dialogue and some sound effects - both have songs by Herrmann as well as wonderful underscore by him, as well. The release is definitely archival in nature - A Child Is Born only came out on a promo 10" record, one of the most collectible of all time. A Christmas Carol comes from acetates made at the time of the broadcast - many years ago I found a reel-to-reel tape made directly from those acetates and have just sat on it for years, until I finally unearthed it several months ago. The mastering engineer has done an amazing job cleaning them up (especially A Child Is Born) and they sound very clear and nice, with the occasional anomaly.
The running time for both scores combined is over fifty minutes. Given that it's our Christmas release and the archival nature of the recordings, we again are offering this at a special price of $15.98 (plus 3.75 shipping). I'm not officially announcing this for another week - so you hainsies/kimlets have a week jump on everyone else (and remember, Laurette completely sold out in less than four days). Payment the usual way via paypal to kritzerland at adelphia dot net. Be sure to put the title of the CD in the paypal invoice.
