I decided on tuna sandwiches for lunch.  They were, as always, excellent.

In today's USPS delivery, a near-mint window card for the film version of "Gypsy"!  Amazingly, my original bid held against the only other bidder.

For DR Jane (as well as some other DRs)...

Original Carvel Stores Closes

There's also an audio feature about it on NPR.

With so much wrong in the world right now, such a shame there is now one less Carvel's in the world.  I wish they would open one in Ashland.

The last Carvel here closed a few months ago.  I honestly prefer other places, but a friend was fond of their soft serve cones,

Do other places near you have soft cones?

In local news:

The trial of one of our serial killers from a couple years ago began today. This defendant is one-half of the "Serial Shooter" (which turned out to be two people).  The other half of the Serial Shooter pleaded guilty.

So... I know we're not supposed to talk the P-Word here on HHW - Politics, that is - but...

-And this is essentially a bi-partisan - well, actually non-partisan issue, question, query...

It's been interesting reading some of the analyses of the Vice Presidential Candidates debate - as well as some of the continued follow-up of the first Presidential Candidates debate.  I keep reading about how some people are "frustrated" that they didn't learn anything new about the candidates... How they were hoping to see if either candidate had a change in opinion or policy about a particular issue.  Well...

Now that we're just a month away from the Election, wouldn't you hope that there would be no changes in opinions or policy on either side?   Unless someone ends up having a major slip of the tongue, or something unseemly is brought up from their past, I would think that both sides would "simply" be standing by and on their platforms and continuing to spread the word about their platform.  There really should be no "shocking" news at this point in the race.  Right?

Yes or No?

-I do know there is still the "Undecided" portion of the electorate, but I'm not referring to them.  ;)

*bk - You can ask and choose to delete this post, but I really am looking for just "Yes" or "No" answers.  -And if anyone would care to elucidate, they can just PM me with their prose.

I say "No", if I have to chose one over the other, as I would liked to have seen some surprises.  I agree your question is non-partisan & a detailed reply should be safe, but I'll PM you anyway.

If my DVDs arrive, I'm going to have to choose what to do this evening:  Watch "The Happening" (and record "Heroes" and "Life") or simply watch "Heroes" and "Life".

Whichever the case, I hope I can report back to all here tomorrow that I chose wisely.

I'd love to cut loose and watch several things on DVD tonight, but I don't want to lose my head or anything.

I know many here have already gotten home and are preparing, or eating, their dinner right now.

But I'm still at work and have 90 minutes before I can leave for home.

Sigh.

The morning ZIPPED by...and the afternoon has been dragging.

LOL!  This reminds me there was a hilarious "bit" in last week's premiere of "The Ex-List" about a merkin.

Time to hit the road.  My UPS packages were just delivered (whew!) and I've got a nice supper waiting to be heated up (rump roast, green beans, new potatoes and heirloom tomatoes).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JMK!!!

Thanks, Cilla.  Did you arrange my little Fox Noise present?  :)

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about.  I'm not saying I wouldn't have done something if I had thought of it, but I was a little too busy at work to think about it.

DR Laura, I had no idea Roland Steinle was a judge now. I used to work with him at the Maricopa Co. PDs office. I bet he's a great judge.  I went to law school and worked with Tim Agan at the PD's office and I used to have cases against Vince Imbordino.   So, I know people on all sides of this one.  It would be an interesting trial to watch.

In a perfect world there would be no surprises or changes in the last month. But, this is politics. The whole game is trying to get the momentum and either trying to hold it or steal it from your opponent

So, I'm wondering how wise it was to have a flu shot the day before 2 killer days at work?  Ah, well, too late now.
