f you are feeling more nervous and edgy than usual, chalk it up to a Mercury-Uranus contra-parallel

Well, I am concerned about today's inspection.

I'm on hold for a "supervisor" because my HMO situation is that the stomach "procedure" which I thought was x-ray is an ultra-sound and they can do nothing before Sept 23!

And we are concerned about you!   :)

Can't you just hide the evidence crawdads under one of those new rocks in your backyard?

If the cause of my eventual death is stomach cancer, someone please promise me they will sue Manhattan Physicians Groupo aka HIP for major malpractice!

I'm now on hold because my doctor, rather than intervening with Westside Radiology, has tossed me back onto the HMO's "referral" lady for her to try to arrange something earlier.  This is the same doctor whose diagnosis of a boil led to two rounds of surgery for a ruptured perianal abscess.

Crabby, aren't we?

Goddam fuckin sonsabitches!

I'm on hold for a "supervisor" ...

I hope he is polite when he tells you to Suck It Up. Just remember, that which makes us suffer makes us stronger, or some such nonsense.

Ah, the failed ad campaign for Sucrets.

DR DearReaderLaura, there is an angel named Chandra working at Westside Radiology and she is indeed on the side of the angels. After my doctor put me on hold for the referral, I listened to music for a good 5 minutes, decided to bite the bullet and make a Sept 23 appointment. Chandra, to whom I had not spoken before, answered the phone, listenede to me vent, and I am now having this ultrasound next Thursday at 9:45!

I think I'll take her a dozen roses.

Media check:

CD(car) - I should be telling you that I'd be listening to The House of Mirth, because I received email notification that the library's only copy is being held for me in AV.  However, it cannot be located.  While waiting for them to track it down, though, I did find brand new copies of the OBCRs for A Catered Affair and [title of show] and Nancy LaMott's Ask Me Again.

DVD - The House of Mirth special features.

Excellent news, DR Elmore!  Do you need someone to go with you?  Remember, Richard and I will be in town and we don't have plans until lunch with DR Ben.  Do you want to come along for that?

Good morning, everyone.

Re JRand's analysis of the plants: all I can say is that this was quite a week for many people. I truly hope that next week brings new, positive energy.

This weekend, I'll probably watch BABY MAMA or THE LIFE BEFORE HER EYES.

Not a lot of time for watching.  I'll be at a wedding rehearsal on Sunday (My step-son's).

I'm going to pass, DR Ginny. I have no idea of how long this ultrasound and following x-ray will take.

Yes, it was a hectic week for me. I spent much of yesterday trying to find some fresh azaleas and other plants for the garden. There's a relatively new nursery near me called Hollywoods and Vines, which I'd been wanting to check out. I did so yesterday. Ugh! I am convinced that most of the people who work in nurseries these days don't know anything about plants. I will probably do the long trek to the other nursery today.

Many calming and good health vibes & xylophones to DR Elmore.

As someone with a love for all things scientific, I've had many a conversation with doctors and the people who work for them. I wish I knew a single reasonable solution to the medical maze. Its existence is not intended to keep sick people away from treatment (quite the opposite), but it often has that outcome.

Also of note in my media check are the bad movies from the Northwest courtesy of Netflix:
TRAVELING TO OLYMPIA, THE WINDY CITY INCIDENT, GODS OF OLYMPIA, K-HOLE, MURDER IN PORTLAND, REVENGE IN OLYMPIA and BEN & ARTHUR.
Train wrecks of film making, to be sure, but like E. M. Forster's George Emerson, I must ask The Eternal "?"
Gael Richards is not a director to be reckoned with, but, seems to be the type of person one would want to sit down and chat with, starting with the remark, "What WERE you thinking?"

Good morning!

Another cool morning, and it took me by surprise. I didn't open up everything until I got up this morning, so I could have had a fresh air night had it been cooler when I went to bed. Argh!
