bk was grumbling (well, that's no news flash) about the escalating prices at the local bistros. Well, enjoy the cheap food now, while it lasts; between the high cost of fuel, the rising price of grain, and now the crop damage in the midwest, expect restaurant prices to go up about 20-25% within a year. The price of beef and pork may take a temporary dip as farmers slaughter extra livestock because it costs too much to fatten them up, but then the prices will sky-rocket because of shortages. Animal husbandry does not have a "quick reaction" response to supply and demand - no matter the market, farmers can't just have more steers next month.
