Good morning, all! I had horrible dreams based on Scott smith's novel (and forthcoming movie) THE RUINS, and I slept late, until around 8:30. I've caught up on last night's posts, checked my bank account, had some coffee, and I'm ready to work on Critical Notes to The Lady Of The Slipper.
at some point I need to rn to the psot office and to a hardware store. I also have a short trek to the NYPL to dro[p poff a package for my friend Bob in the Music Division.
DR Jose, I'm glad you liked Mr Doyle's Sondheim productions and I'm glad it gave the critics who missed the chance to review the superior originals an opportunity to oooh and aaah over Mr Sondheim. I still believe both productions had to sacrifice in either the acting or musical departments to find people to do both, and - at least with SWEENEY, since one was more than enough - I feel the production was only for folk who knew the story since Mr Doyle's lack of concern with telling the plot or defining relationships was completely nil. As for his MAHAGONNY, he was truly out of his element.
