;D

Well, actually...

I blame it on bk, DR JMK, and DR Tomovoz.  In no particular order.  :)

I'm heading down now to read a bit and then on to Val Kilmer IS Moses.

I cleaned the bedroom areas this mornig, so I don't have that to worry about.

Speaking of heading down and WBBLing:

I have decided, after much angst and reflection, that a four-day weekend is not in my best interests at this time.

Therefore, I have added a day onto my time off and will be taking a five-day weekend, Thursday-Tuesday.

Just wanted to share this...

This article was printed this past Sunday in Grand Forks about my 3xgreat aunt, Mary Schumacher, turned 109 yesterday. Her sight if failing but her mind is still quite good.

http://www.grandforksherald.com/articles/index.cfm?id=48188&section=Community

Wow!  Your 3xgreat aunt has lived in three different centuries!!  That's really cool!

Topic of the Day:  I'd love to go to Ireland and back to Germany.  I only lived there for about three years when my dad was in the army and we left when I was seven years old.  I haven't been back since.  I'd love to go to Australia and...actually, a whole lot of places. :D

For your edification-

In David Pogue's technology column in today's NY Times, he outlines his collection of the latest NetSpeak [online abbreviations]:

* GI -- Google it

* MOP -- Mac or PC?

* FCAO -- five conversations at once

* IIOYT -- is it on YouTube?

* DYFH -- did you Facebook him/her?

* BIOI -- buy it on iTunes

* CMOS -- call me on Skype

* GGNUDP -- gotta go, no unlimited data plan

* WLF -- with the lady friend

* JUOC -- jacked up on caffeine

* 12OF -- twelve-o'clock flasher (refers to someone less than competent with technology, to the extent that every appliance in the house flashes "12:00")

* SML -- send me the link

* RHB -- read his/her blog

* MBLO -- much better-looking online

* KYST -- knew you'd say that

* NBL -- no battery left

* CTTC -- can't talk, teacher's coming

* TWD -- typing while driving

* CMT (CMF, CMM, CMB) -- check my Twitter (Facebook, Myspace, blog)

* CYE (CYF, CYM, CYB)--check your email (Facebook, Myspace, blog)

And a few just for iPhone owners:

* SPLETS -- send pics later; Edge too slow

* CSVUI -- can't send video, using iPhone

* BPWMI -- boss playing with my iPhone

* SIK -- sorry, iPhone keyboard

* OOM -- out of messages (for iPhone users who haven't upgraded their AT&T "200 messages a month" plan)

:)

Thanks, Sing, for trying to educate unsavvy folks like me. I think I'll stick to standard English. Will there be anyone left to communicate with??

Your feeling that your grandparents were buried in that same cemetery and then your finding out that they were and that their graves had been close to those of Keith's should have had you in chills!!!

When I have these feelings, this "knowledge", it's a gentle knowing, not scary at all. I somehow just KNOW. I have no idea HOW I know, but I do. It feels perfectly natural.

Dakota, next time it happens, record them and when they're asleep (or at least not engaged in the aforementioned noisy activity), replay the recording at a very loud volume!!

Right now, Manhattan is do-able, while Paris is a little more out of reach.  Maybe for our 30th anniversary - January 2011, not all that long from now.

Thirty years in 2011, Ginny?  Were you a child bride?

Good Evening!

Back from running errands.  And back also from Cold Stone Creamery.  :)  I belong to their Birthday Club, and since I had received my coupon via e-mail for a free Love It!-sized Original Creation, well...

Ice cream is good.  Ice cream with some mix-ins is better.  Free ice cream with mix-ins is the best.  :)

If I win the lottery, it's off to Carrick-McCross in County Monaghan, Eire, where I'll visit the graves of lots of McCabes and Carolines and Wards and who knows else; then tour the rest of Ireland, with a stop in London for lots of theater before my next(imagined)trip...Speaking of Ireland, on Atc, celebrating Shirley Booth's birthday, I was reminded we owe Mr K. thanks for getting JUNO on CD; I also recently saw The GREAT LIE; Mary Astor won a supporting oscar for it, but said she won for the wrong film; She wanted the Award for MALTESE FALCON

DR MattH - I just got my final schedule for the upcoming Fall SETC conference in Charlotte next weekend.  I'll be coming in Friday, 9/7, night - I may try to come in earlier if my rehearsal gets cancelled/postponed/etc.  On Saturday, I'm only scheduled to play from 9:00-Noon.  Sunday: 9:00-4:30ish.  Monday: 9:00-1:30-ish.  -Then I'm flying back Monday night.

If you'd be interested in sitting in on the auditions on Sunday or Monday (Saturday is a college day), I can arrange for a pass for you - like DR edisaurus did in Atlanta back in March.  Otherwise, if you want to meet up for a meal - since it looks like I'll have plenty of free time this time round - just drop me a line.

...And now I'm wondering how long I can hold out from re-cleaning the floor.  My roomie cleaned it earlier.  Sort of.  She sprayed some 409 on the floor, then attached some paper towels to a Swiffer broom, to wipe things up.  Then she attached more paper towels and, more or less, damp mopped the whole thing.  I tried to tell her to damp-mop first to get all the major dirt up - instead of just redistributing the dirt.  There's a weird "dullness" to the floor right now, and the smell of bleach is still quite present in the air too.  So... We'll see.

But at least she cleaned.  :)

I hope everyone has taken a look at today's "Gold Box" offerings at Amazon.com.

There's no time like the present to take advantage of those spiffy barstools.

And note, please:  They've begun offering limited-duration "lightning deals".  Right now, it's a DVD of "When Harry Met Sally" for $5.99.  But time is flying.  Once time is up, the old deal is gone and a "new" deal is in the offing.

Be still my heart.

Our CBS and FOX affiliates are airing NFL football tonight during prime time....and, thus, I won't be seeing "Big Brother 8" or anything else, I guess, unless I want to watch 2nd string tryouts for the Raiders and 49ers.

Had another really fun rehearsal today - blocked  some scenes (we're finding some really fun new things, plus having to come up with solutions to other things because of the radical new set design - it's a challenge, but it does force you to be really creative.  I'll have more detail in the notes.
