The email from the pastor finally came. So you know what I will be doing home on a Friday night.

Not to be an ageist, but...isn't he a little long in the tooth for that role? I hope he doesn't hurt himself!

Well...yes, he is 63 years old. ::) But I saw a clip on YouTube of him singing from just a couple of years ago and he's still got a voice!

Anyway, I'm home now for a couple of hours.  I went to Subway for lunch (I had a coupon for a free 6-inch sandwich when you buy a six-inch sandwich, a drink and chips).  I have to be back at 6:00 pm.

I got to the theater at 9:00 am and we basically just took the costumes from the gondolas (as they're called in the biz) and brought them downstairs to the dressing rooms.  There are five of us locals working with one traveling wardrobe guy and I've actually worked with him before (I don't remember which show, though).  His name is Brian.  Some people (a Sondheim reference ;)) steamed clothes.  One girl washed a few things that needed washing.  We all had to unpack shoes.  I had to spray all the shoes with Odor Eater spray...not too pleasant when you have 27 performers and they each have two or three pairs of shoes. :P When Brian asked me to do that he said, "...and especially Ted's." ::) I guess Ted has a bit of a foot odor problem.  Anyway, that was the morning. :)

Now, I'm going to catch up on all the posts, take a little nap, shower, then change into my show blacks (black shirt, black pants, dark shoes and any color of underwear that I want...I'm thinking blue plaid :D) and head back to the theater.  The show runs about 2 hours, not counting the intermission, which could be either 15 or 20 minutes.  I don't know what I'll be doing during the show, but Brian said that afterwards it could take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour to pack it all away.  15 minutes would be great...we could get out of there at a resonable time, but if we take the hour, that's just more time that we can get paid for. ;) We'll see.

Has Miss Karen checked amazon to see if she is now one of the blessed few that can review.  If you're one of the few - you must review.  What am I, Johnny Cochran all of a sudden?

O fearless leader -- that is my mission tonight -- the 24 hr waiting period should be up by then (unless of course they found my file through Homeland Security ...)  I must, I can, and I will review with amazon (you saw my post where I solved the purchase problem by buying another Brain CD?  I 'm serious, I'm giving them as Christmas gifts to family and friends)...

Good Evening!

Well, it turned out to be a quite nice afternoon here in DC.  The rain stopped, the skies cleared and the sun came out.  Alas, by the time all that happened, I was in a rehearsal studio on the 10th floor playing auditions... Looking out at the now-beautiful day.  -Which, unfortunately, made the three hours of auditions seem like a full day - at least to me.  Thankfully, the afternoon was filled with good people, but, still, those were a long three hours.  -At least for me.

Wouldn't it make more sense to spray the shoes before packing rather than let them ripen in transit?

Speaking of caviar (and DerBrucer was), I saw on Paula Dean's show that Serendipity has a $1,000-per-serving ice cream sundae that features golf leaf chocolate as well as caviar among its ingredients.

Maybe we should have this on the next walking tour, if it reaches the East side.

I'll have a taste of yours

Yup, everyone has shoes.  Most are sandals of some sort, but there are a few pairs of boots and of course, the Soul Sisters have wedge-type sandles for the title song.

der Brucer

Well... Having done the tour thing, I actually know the answer to this query...

If the tour is playing multiple nights in a city, then some costumers will go ahead and spray the shoes after the evening's performance, and then they can sit out overnight in the air to dry out and deodorize (hopefully).  However, if a tour is doing one-nighters and split weeks - like the current tour of JCS is - then all the costumer wants to do at the end of the evening is get everything packed up as soon as possible.  And spraying "damp" shoes doesn't really help if the shoes don't have the air (and time) to "breathe".  So, the spray in the morning when they're unpacked.

*And if you want to talk about dirty/stinky laundry, then you should check out the baskets of clothes that need to be washed the following morning in the new city...  :-X

And as for Ted Neely - His vocal cords are basically "trained" to sing JCS at this point and time.  And it's basically the only thing he can really sing at this point and time.

Don't worry -- I'm just playing around (and really making fun of more myself than anyone cause I'm befuddled by all this computer stuff that should be easy enough for a baby -- actually I'm surprised I can find my way on to this website -- come to think of it, I'm pretty sure Cason had to show me......) like, for the longest time I thought LOL meant "lots of love"  sometimes it didn't make any sense or didn't fit the message, but I just wrote it off as "man, people are really feeling the love out there"...I have a screw loose, what can I say?....Hey!  Wait a minute! What am I saying?!  I'm perky, I'm feisty, and I'm kick-ass bad so I ain't explaining nothin' to nobody!...

The hardest part is tomorrow when from hour 24 - 29 they stand in fron tof thelocal grocery stores and collect canned goods for the local food pantries
