I do have the Annette BABES IN TOYLAND LP - and video.  Don't have the DVD - as DR MATTH wrote it is NOT in Widescreen.  And I really HATE Ray Bolger's performance in this....and well...just about everything.

And the word of the day is: REFRACT!
Casey would waltz
With a strawberry blonde,
who looked up on occasion with joy to see
a gigantic disco ball REFRACT their dancing image back to her.

Good morning, all!  I'm all caught up on last night's and this morning's posts.  I have very little to do today beyond working on my Toyland reports.  I should go to the NYPL, but I think I'll hold off until Tuesday and play in the neighborhood.

DR Cillaliz, the only good BABES IN TOYLAND recording is this group of excerpts recorded around 1945; God knows when the recording I worked on will be released.

Dear Friend BK, did you get my cryptic email about the Dallas Lyric Stage?

TOD:
I mentioned a few theatre performances the other day, but I would add the following to the list of Luker, Martin, Felciano, and Jones:
Tracey Gilbert (the soul of THE TRAGIC & HORRIBLE LIFE OF THE SINGING NUN)
Laura Daniel (who was both moving and outrageous as the Singing Nun)
Beth Fowler (NIGHT OF THE HUNTER)

Saturday morning greetings!  After my glorious 6-day Christmas weekend off, I now have a 3-day New Year's weekend.  And next weekend is my regularly-scheduled 3-day weekend off - I like this!

I have haircut scheduled this morning, after which DH Richard and I will take my computer to the Apple Store to have its memory increased.  Assuming all goes well, I should be back online sometime this evening.

Good morning!

Overcast here and cool right now, but supposed to get into the low 60s last today. Rain for the next two days.

I had  a hard time getting on-line this morning. My telephone lines have been having sporadic line noise recently, and when that happens, a dial-up connection is pretty much impossible.

Would you like to invite a poor lost lad to the party?

Since I couldn't get on-line earlier, I started watching the Oscar-winning CRASH again (off Showtime-HD). The film has effective moments, that's for sure. But so much of it is pretentious, and some of the dialog that Paul Haggis puts in the mouths of the characters sounds like a screenwriter pontificating and nothing like actual speaking. Always takes me right out of the movie and makes it seem so artificial.

I suspect this afternoon I'll get back to CSI and maybe watch something like SILENT MOVIE or possibly HARPER, both of which were Christmas presents.

Tonight, I'm watching another Blu-ray film: ENEMY OF THE STATE. I watched it off a friend's DVD several years ago and really liked it, but I've forgotten much about it, and that old DVD wasn't even anamorphic as I recall, so this Blu-ray release should be eye-opening.

Edisaurus, here is where both I and DR Elmore bought our region free DVD players. They have a very nice selection.

My DVD of the Bollywood movie I was going to watch last night was defective...after 2 minutes it froze and nothing I did would make it play.

So I watched some episodes of the old TV series FURY. Nice family show starring Peter Graves, who certainly was yummalicious back in the 1950s!!

I'm up, I'm up, and she of the Evil Eye is here so I have no time to dally.  I'll package up five orders and be on my way to do various and sundried year-end errands.

elmore, I did get it - I'm presuming it's to ask someone we know to contact them on my behalf - but the images or text that was supposed to be in the e-mail wouldn't load (even in gmail) so I don't know what was there.

Even though I woke up a couple of times, I basically got a good night's sleep, albeit with some peculiar but not disturbing dreams.
