I'll ride for a while but I have to get off before your stop.
Don't apologize for cards (or lack thereof). I'm glad you're back among us with your happy face and kind words.
I have another day of volunteering. Yesterday Anita Gillette was helping out. What a sweet and kind woman. She's positive and full of energy and was a great help. We don't get many "celebrities" helping out but Anita has been by for at least one day for the past three years. Her significant other is from England and she spends time between New York, London and California. Apparently she was in one of the CSIs I think. I couldn't tell which show she was talking about. They liked her very much and want to expand her character in coming episodes. Does that ring a bell with any of you who watch the various CSIs?
We had an unexpected delivery yesterday from Colgate Palmolive. I already mentioned the donation of the deodarant but yesterday we got a shipment of Body Wash. Unfortunately it came with no notice and we were unaware of the restrictions on the delivery. Luckily the truck driver was very nice and we got all 3000, yes three thousand, pounds (which comes out to 350 boxes at 12 in a box that comes to 4200 bottles) unloaded and up to the second floor. The driver explained that it was an "outside, on-truck delivery" delivery, meaing he just brought the stuff to us, it was our responsibility to get it off the truck and into our work room. He came at lunch time when it was just Anthony, me and one other volunteer not over the age of 65. We took a few minutes to reconoiter and with help from the staff from Actors Equity we were able to get all the boxes inside in about a half hour. It's now unpacked and ready to be put in gift bags. After lifting many of the 350 boxes yesterday I didn't feel guilty about not exercising last night after dinner. I got enough of a workout lifting boxes.
Off to clean up, eat breakfast and move on to Equity. Later my friends.
