Lovely photo, DR Hisaka.

Thanks for the cookie advice, Jose. I'll be making the second half of the batch today (the dough is in the fridge) - so that's what I'll do.

Yes, I was correct, DR Jr, about who played Panni in Leave it to Panni. For some great shots of Panni as portrayed in the show, go to the

Hi all!

What a lovely day to have a Birthday!  It's so nice, I think there should be TWO birthdays!  Why what is this?  Did I get my wish?  Yes, in fact!  There ARE two birthdays!

Have a WONDERFUL day, DR's Penny and Dan-the-Man!

I must be getting used to the cold.  It's only 63 degrees F.  Notice I remembered the F this time.  And I think it is warm and lovely.

Read the movie!  See the book!  Abie's Evening Pee!  I think they are going to make a musical out of it well!   :D

Well, I'm off to do normal Saturday chores.  There must be dog food in the house.  And dog goodies.  Must not forget the dog goodies.  The world as we know it will end if there is not any dog goodies in the house.

I do what I can to protect mankind from those type of disasters.

Talk with ya'll later!

I'm listening to the radio and opera singers are singing Christmas music.  It's all very festive.

KUSC 91.5.  But only for twenty more minutes, when the Metropolitan Opera broadcast begins.  Today's opera is Wagner's Tannhauser.

OMG DRPANNI - thanks for the link.  I stand corrected.  Now my question is, in which of those outfits do you dress to bake cookies?

In the yes, I have no shame, Day 2 Department:  this morning's article on the unfortunate suicidee at the Crystal Cathedral mentions that he arranged for John Tesh and Celine Dion, which makes it all the more understandable to me.

TV TOD:  Betsy and I both let out yelps of glee when Leeann and Ami got voted off of Survivor.  Lost and Desperate Housewives have also been very good all season.

Ah yes, I believe DRMBARNUM owns a copy of that photo of you, dRPANNI.

I have enjoyed THE AMAZING RACE, a new show called KEVIN HILL, and RENO 911!

But my favorite TV show this year, so far, has been LUCILLE BALL on PBS' AMERICAN MASTERS series.  A nice look at her tv work with some film I had never seen.....

Images of Michael Jackson and Scott Peterson and their various legal problems.  And sports wise some ice skating moments with John Weir.

I think Joi Lansing was nominated for an emmy for her role as Panni, wasn't she? And not a collapsed rack in sight!

Which reminds me that I must call Joi Lansing's sister today. Although I did notice that in Joi's obituary there is no mention of a sister?? Just her surviving parents and her brother...maybe it is a sister-in-law?

elmore - of course I know Miss Mayes can be a pill, but at least she knew better than to be a pill with me.  Just a couple of other performers were pills to me and they learned that being a pill is not the way to win with me.

Dear Friend BK, I've never said Miss Mayes was dumb!  I only know of one person, a conductor, who's dumb enough to fight with the person holding the checkbook.  I just know I gave her better charts than her treatment deserved.  Even if they were late!

DRMichael Shayne, I'm not yet dismissed by the surgeon, but I am in so much better shape than I was in August that it's amazing.  Thanks for asking.  How are you these days?

As for my mission impossible...mission accomplished: I bought a new car! Yes, a brand spanking new 2005 Hyundai Elantra Hatchback...blue to match my eyes, LOL!

I am happy to report that I dealt with the most wonderful and helpful salesmen ever...it was a nice, although LONG, car shopping experience. My neice Katie's husband Brian assisted me and I think I got a good deal.

I would snap a photo of the new automobile but for some reason my camera won't work. I tried new batteries but for the life of me I cannont get the shutter to open??!! I guess I will be making a trip back to Best Buy today!

Favorite TV shows of the year: DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES for sure, along with the old standbys THE AMAZING RACE, SURVIVOR, and BIG BROTHER...that is about it for my 2004 TV watching I guess. I did watch an episode of COLD CASE and enjoyed it, but I keep forgetting to tune in regularly.

TV:  Not much this year. Still "Six Feet Under" and thanks to DR Panni, "M.I.5" ("Spooks" in the UK and OZ). Tonight is the first of "Carnivale" which I shall try.
