This is a picture of myself with Paul Francis Webster and Sammy Fain.  Together they wrote such songs as "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing" and "Secret Love," both Oscar winners.

I feel very fortunate to have known them.  They were very classy gents and they were very kind to me.

I know that what you call canadian bacon is the round thing that is like ham.

My point is that i live in montreal. And i have never seen or heard of it here.
And i would be surprised if many canadians knew what it was. Unless it's a regional thing that i am not aware of.

So, you've never seen or heard of the "round thing that is like ham"? If so what do you call it?

I sometimes perform Sammy Fain's very humerous "The Gown My Mother Wore," transcribed from a recording of Sammy delivering it.

I presume you perform it in appropriate eponymous attire.

I'm not faamiliar with that one.

I did handle their last Oscar campaign together.  It was for the song, "A World That Never Was."  Nobody saw the movie (HALF A HOUSE), thank God.  There was no commercial recording, so we used Sammy's demo and started a campaign, "Dial-a-Song".  People would phone in and hear Sammy's demo on an answering machine.

We got nominated.  Eddie Albert sang the song on the Oscar show...but we lost to Streisand's "Evergreen."

DR Druxy - I was an undergraduate at The University of Michigan with your former client, Christine Lahti.  She wouldn't remember me, but I sure remember her performances in Student Lab Theater productions!

DR Matthew - Do you have any relatives who live in Ohio? And is a photographer? I just walked through the photography museum/exhibit here, and there were works on display by someone with your surname.

Probably.  She deep-fry bagels and cannollis on one of her recent shows.

Back from a surprisingly pleasant long jog.  Must now do some errands.  I will say I have to wear different jeans shorts because these are now literally falling off me and I have to keep hiking them up.  Isn't that grand?  That means I've lost over an inch from my waist, maybe even an inch and a half.

TOD:
The First Nudie Musical (which  enoyjedl but stil can't figure out how you'll adapt it for the live stage--how unseemly will it be?)

The Notebook -Gena Rowlands and Jim Garner were as brilliant  as you'd expect them to be (even despite the fact that I had figured out the film within the first 5 minutes)

I never discuss politics. I am one of those people who are too stupid and should not be allowed to vote.

You can vote for any reason you want....even if it's the color of their tie, a flip of a coin, the number of letters in a name....it's great to be an American!

***Big Deep Breath***

Well, I've alluded to this several times this week and can now announce that, effective January 1, 2009, I will be retired from public employment in the state of Ohio.

Thanks, DR Cillaliz.

Well, DR Richard and I do have these MetroCards with money on them that have to be used before August 31, 2009, and we have a wedding anniversary in January...

I vote for the person who does not call my telephone and interrupt dinnertime. Also, I vote for the person who does not clutter up the town with campaign signs.

I'm sure you meant "leisure", unless you are attacking their veracity. Remember the rule: "i" before "e" except after "c" - and all the exceptions that make us feel like dunces.

or when sounded as "a" as in neighor or weigh.

Well, the game warden has inspected and left and did not find any crawdads. He asked about turtles, which I denied having.
