DR singdaw - As for KitchenAid vs. Cuisinart... Their standard models are about equal.  I've been thinking of upgrading my stand mixer, and the reviews for both lines seem pretty equal.  Usually seems to come down to a choice of colors and attachments and accessories.  *I still sort of want the KitchenAid Ice Cream Chiller bowl.  ;)

And, yes, Welcome Home, Jane.  I hope that both you and Keith are able to have some "down time" over the next few times.

Here I am back from La Cocina. I've been back for a while but had to stay off line until Anthony called. He asked me to bring him some things when I come to Wisconsin so we had to figure out where they were.

A loverly time was had this evening. It was great fun to help Jose usher in his 40s. I'm still feeling the effects of two margaritas (watermelon). They make 'em strong on the Upper West Side. I had a beef quesadia (sp) and we had spirited discussions about politics, and whatever else came out of our mouths.

It's getting on to 10pm. Not late to some but I'm about to head to bed.

Goodnight all. See you in the morning.

Thank you DRs Cilla & Jose.

We will aim for downtime.  There is always much to be done after returning from a trip, especially if you have company prior to leaving.

I suppose down time is what we are having at the moment.  I'm here talking & Keith is setting up our new laptop.  His brother is moving to a smaller apartment & won't have room for his large computer.  We went to Best Buy so Keith could choose a laptop for him.  While we were there found a semi-small one for us to use while traveling & when while sitting out on our deck.  The deck is where Keith is now.

DR JRand58 - I did just check out his Facebook page after you mentioned him in your earlier post.  He looks familiar to me.  Although, almost any actor in New York City looks familiar to me by this point and time.  ;)

But does that have anything to do with playing the piano?

I am going to disconnect the computer, get some ice cream, and try to watch The Hillary Show.  My next posts should be from NYC.

Bye for now!

I just got a call from a friend of mine who said that he's hanging out with some other friends after their show tonight...  and they want to buy me a few more birthday drinks..  Hmm...

Alas, I think I'm in for the evening.

I wonder if the people who made this Andromeda Strain bothered to read the novel?  Talk about a creative team (and I use that term loosely) not trusting their material and "borrowing" every nonsensical and inane plot device from every film of the last twenty years - they should give the money back that they were paid to make this tripe.  I can't imagine Mr. Crichton was thrilled but he probably didn't bother watching.  If he had the same sort of deal Mr. Matheson had with Universal on I Am Legend, then he received nothing for this remake, unless he has a piece of the profits and let me tell you this piece of crap is a total writeoff.  I've got twenty more minutes to go and I have no doubt they will be just as excruciating as the 160 minutes that preceded them.
