As for the Friday Media Check....

Hmm...

The only thing that comes to mind is the fact that I've fallen asleep a couple of nights this past week listening to WQXR.  Hmm...

Thank goodness you got that x-ray/HMO stuff sorted out, DR Elmore. How outrageous that what could be critical to a person's well being is disregarded so nonchalantly!

Actually, I guess that would make you the burper. The unfortunate person who just got a whiff of your salmon dinner when you belched in his face would be the burpee.

I thought they'd be the burpette.

I suppose I'm up.  A tiny bit later than yesterday, but still early - I was having the weirdest dreams - some of which I understood, some of which was completely surreal and incomprehensible.

How distressing to hear at the end of BURN NOTICE last night that it's going on a three week hiatus, and when it returns, there are only two episodes left. Argh!

I'm guessing USA is splitting its season in half like it does with MONK and PSYCH.

That must be what they're thinking, but why broadcast the conventions on all NBC cable channels? I would think if someone wanted to watch, they could find it elsewhere than on basic cable outlets.

Is that idiot Numnuts still doing the all night classical? Her affected accent comes and goes as the night wears on.

DR MBarnum:  I hope you have learned the identity of the new HOH in the Big Brother house.  I don't have the live feeds, but I was checking in with www.hamsterwatch.com to find out who won.  It didn't last as long as some of the other marathon HOH comps,

"Hoi polloi" is Greek for the "the Masses", so "the hoi polloi" is redundant as any friendly pedant will tell you.

Tonight, if all goes well, I will meet with our distinguished and lovely Mr. Larry Moore to reminisce about life in an earlier time. We will watch radical, left-wing commies sing songs about love and life in the old U.S. of A. in the 60s. Ah, the Chad Mitchell Trio!

Dang! I miss all the fun!

OMG!

I realized that I had never burned the OCR of A Chorus Line into my iTunes - even though revival was already in there.  So, I just put the disc in a few minutes ago...

Now that's the show I remember and love!!!!!!!

Just caught up with everything after a CLOSER week from hell, trying to do this week's work and prepare for the finale .

I just saw the news about Keith's mom. That's terribly sad.

Roy Zimmerman, the modern-day Tom Lehrer, has fans who are known as the "Roy Polloi".
