Now I must post some shots of Molly's most incredible back yard...her whole house and yards are absolutely fantastic! I was so envious!!!!

I don't remember what this plant was called, but it was absolutly stunning! Molly gave me a star off of it...hopefully I can get it to grow in my back yard.

Banana trees...which I had no idea would even grow in the Northwest climate.

Back from the post office - shipped all the single book orders, and the book orders that had more than the one book in the order (whether DVDs or CDs or other books) will be packaged and shipped first thing tomorrow morning.

Trying to work up the energy to jog.  I think I'll do the same route as yesterday.

Work the box office and then go backstage and star: you are Katharine Cornell!

We have the same legs, I am told.

I shall look at those QUICKSILVER volumes, thanks for the link.  8)

Rehearsal last night was agony, and I'll leave it at that.

Well, I hope the only agony reprise you have tonight is the one in Act Two.

My question for ASK BK day....

Most Paramount Pictures have the credit:

Process Photography by Farciot Edouart

Does this mean that he went out and photographed all of the background plates used in process photography....or did he photograph all of the scenes in a movie that used the back projection process even though another DP did the rest of the movie?

I don't notice the credit regularly on any other studio's product.

I watched THE ILLUSTRATED MAN - discussed here last week or so.  I enjoyed it much more in WIDESCREEN than the only other time I saw it.

CBS used to have an 11:30 p.m. movie when it was basically give Johnny Carson the time slot.  TIM was chopped up badly and Rod Steiger is just not a handsome man....and he seemed to be giving a Judd Frye performance....but last night, it was not as bad as I remembered.

Not my favorite Ray Bradbury book....but some interesting things.

How do you CREATE 1000 jobs?  Isn't a job about doing something that needs to be done?  How do you CREATE 1000 jobs?

If your enterprise provides a new job opportunity that is then filled, you have created a job.

Net job creation (new jobs minus lost jobs) is a measure of an improving economy.

Many argue that the quality of the net jobs created is important. In recent times many areas have net job creation, but the lost jobs (manufacturing) were higher paying than the new ones (service industries) - the loss of highly paid manufacturing jobs has been an on going problem for the rust belt.

So wouldn't you have to create a new enterprise in order to create a job?

DRLaura took me to the doctor today, and my cast was removed!!! Hooray!  It will be a month until I am supposed to put full weight on my ankle and not use the walker (but maybe still the boot), but this feels like such progress.   DRLaura only ran me into the curb twice and one or two walls, so there's another area of progress!!!! :P ;D

A bath-- a real bath where I can get my entire body wet is next on the agenda.  OH BOY!!!

DR Kerry - congratulations on having your cast removed!  I know how much you're going to enjoy being able to bathe without having to keep your leg dry.  Be careful, though!

I was just talking to my friend Ron on the phone. His father, Richard, passed away this last Sunday at age 89. Richard had been very active up till the last few weeks, still driving, working on the farm, helping out neighbors with projects, etc.

He fell and broke his arm about two months ago and the doctors then discovered he had bone cancer, lung cancer, and well, cancer all over. He went into a nursing home about 3 weeks ago.

Richard went to the Methodist church here in town, and has been a member of the church since 1919!!! Richard has spent his whole adult life working on church committees, helping with rummage sales, and buidling projects for the church, at least since the 1930s.

Ron told me today that neither the pastor nor anyone else from the church ever inquired about the fact that Richard had not been in attendance in the last couple of months...no calls, no letters, no visits, no nothing.

No one else in the family attended this church, however, they are all quite sad that nobody there made the slightest effort to see what was up with this long time member.

Oddly enough, when Ron was going through some of his dad's stuff, he came across a card that was mailed to Richard from the church back in the 1950s. He had missed a couple of Sunday's and the church mailed him this card to make sure all was well and that they missed him.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend's dad, MBarnum. It's a shame no one from the church called to inquire about him. Everyone must have thought it was someone else's responsibility.
