We had a rousing opening night....completely sold out. Of course people were still arriving during the curtain speech, so I helped them find their way to their seats.

Each number received generous applause, and the audience was great, responding to each number and scene.  The movie brings us so much GOODWILL, and they WANT to love us, so it was a joy to hear the reactions and talk to people afterward!

A few awkward moments, but hopefully those will be done away with tonight.  I got ALL my laughs and threw in a couple of "Lucy" takes for good measure....so let the run continue!

Congratulations on your successful opening night!!

DR Jeanne...   Before I joined HHW, I was the shabby guy over in the dark corner, mumbling to himself.

I began my run at 9:15 this morning.  I did the long run, and then, because the walking part has been the hardest, I just kept running.  I ended up doing three-and-a-half miles, which I haven't done in over twenty years.  Then I only had another mile to walk home - much better.  Don't know if I can do that every day, but I got through it pretty well.

My problem with the "Name Game" is that, by the time I get up in the morning and on the computer out here on the West Coast (i.e. around 7am or so), all you've East Coast folks have taken all the obvious ones.

 :-\

Actually, it's the West Coast that usually has "first crack" at the obvious names. bk puts the initials out at midnight (3 a.m. East Coast time), so by the time *I* log on, the West Coasters have had hours to come up with names.

The grocery store wasn't very busy at all, but you'd never know it for how busy the shopping center itself was. Terrible traffic, back up lanes, argh! I was SO glad to get home.

I began my afternoon viewing with MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST. Funny episode with some good jokes, situations, etc. I liked that geek Rob, too. He was cute!

Next week is the season finale! Oh, my, this summer has gone by fast. And this may be the last season for the show. Kathy has said that she's not sure she wants to do another season.

Then I watched SMART PEOPLE.

It was kind of a slug of a movie. All of these fabulous actors caught up in a constipated comedy-drama where basically everyone is a sad sack. Even 94 minutes seemed too long. And, the uncle played by Thomas Haden Church. He should have been the focus of the film instead of a supporting character. He was the only one with any life, sense of fun, or interesting character story.

I hope you get better, too, DR Jane. You have a week to get better, right? Try not to overwork yourself getting ready for these folks (you could really end up in serious trouble). If they're family (even though they're not close), they will understand if you've been sick.

The day continues to improve.  I found out Craig & Ioana have been without a stove or hot water for 3 days, how many more they don't know.  The gas company said there is a leak.  Such a great apartment building.  The refrigerator has never worked properly.

If only he had a job so they could move.

I watched all of the bonus features on the disc, too: making of documentary, outtakes, deleted scenes. And I started listening to the commentary. Good lord, the director is as slow-talking and pedantic as the characters in the movie. No wonder it turned out that way!

I had time to skim through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Luke was on briefly, but only assuring his mother. Nothing in the previews for next week.

Miss Karen, did you get a storm last night, or did Phoenix hog it all?

I'm so bummed! I watched Kathy and forgot totally about BURN NOTICE. I'll catch it over the weekend.

Thanks Matt H.  I still want the house clean & germ free.  I'm almost more concerned Keith will catch it.  We don't want to give them anything, and we want to have a fun time.

Of course in the back of our minds is if there will be a trip to L.A.  I pray not.

I'm drinking the tea now and it feels good going down.

I don't know why that woman's bitching so much about her husband and that blonde bimbo! I wish someone would remind her about her carrying on with another man.
