Yes, one master's degree was enough for me. The superintendent of the school system where I worked hounded me for years after I got my MA to go on for my doctorate. Yes, it would have meant more money in my pay check, but I saw no sense in getting a doctorate to continue teaching middle school. I had no interest in college teaching or public school adminstration, and I just didn't see the sense in getting a Ph.D. just for the sake of it. Also, I put SO MUCH PRESSURE on myself as a student that I was just relieved to be free of all that pressure. Sure, I had to continue to go back to school every five years to keep my teaching credential valid, but taking two classes during a five year period for renewal purposes was a great deal less pressure-filled than working to make A's in course work for a degree.
