IN THE THROES
« on: May 22, 2008, 12:12:53 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in the throes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they, too, are in the throes of not coming home.

I found this wonderful paperback book whilst rummaging through a bookstore I frequent.  I knew you'd want me to get it and to share its marvelous cover.  Those who've read How To Write A Dirty Book and Other Stories know my love for this period of sleazy books.  And isn't it time for those who haven't read How To Write A Dirty Book and Other Stories to get it and read it?  I think it is.

Well, I need to get to bed so that I may get up early to drive to Tacoma to pick up Tom (TCB) and then we'll drive to Issaquah to meet Fred (FJL).  I don't know if Skip will be available, but we'll find out.  Good night, BK.  I'm sure that both TCB and I will have reports, afterwards. :D

Good morning DR FerrisWheel

There is that movie with the zithers.
(not to be confused with the movie in which they sang "if I Had My Zithers")

"Spooks" having an unfortunate other meaning here in the U of S of A.

TOD

Somehow, this has me hankering for another viewing of Casino Royale.  The one with David Niven, not the one with Daniel Craig.

Dumb.  Silly.  It would have been mindblowing if their minds hadn't already been blown.

Great score, of course.

Time to get to work.

Today is Employee Appreciation Day.  That means we all get to go to a meeting for an hour and hear how much regional management appreciates our work.

And next week we'll get a memo from regional management asking how come our productivity was an hour short.

Hasta.

Good morning, all! I woke up refreshed and ready to face whatever occurs today.  This morning, Jo and I are going to run some errands and stop someplace for a huge breakfast. At noon, I'm lunching with my dad's attorney and we'll discuss the house situation as well as what needs to be done to close down the estate.

Randy last weekend finally put up a for sale sign on the property, I was happy to learn, and when I thanked him, he essentially said that if he hadn't done it, it never would have happened. I gather all the Macbeths want, kind of like Great Britain in 1775, all they can bleed from the colonies. I'm reading the McCullough bio of John Adams, so I'mn heavy into 1775 politics.

I may later see my cousing Sue Ellen and my Uncle Bob, who's my mother's youngest brother. Sue is the daughter of my mother's oldest sister, and she keeps an eyre out for him and runs errands fr him since he's her/our only living uncle. He's been in frail health for a couple of years, I believe he's around 77 now, and I fear that this is my last chance to see him.

Jo and I are off to play now. Back later.

Today, I offer you this gem of a lyric from the new stage musical, Saved, adapted from the film of the same name:

So grab on to a life buoy!
