I am envious of the east coast get together! You all will have a blast. Having talked to Elmore3003 many times on the telephone I can tell you that he is a lot of fun...and he is crazy too! LOL!

Ok, we need to continue thinking of our Pacific Northwest get together! Jane I think you had mentioned that September might be a good time for you to come up to Portland. What do you think? TCB, Ann, George, Jed, JMK...who else is up here?

Any time that my work would have a pot-luck, a woman who has since retired and started a latte/coffee delivery service would always bring coleslaw with pineapple. That was her specialty. Most people loved it...so did I!

We have been using the Dynix system for more than 10 years, now. The demo this morning (in about a half hour) is for Horizon, which is the next generation of Dynix (from what I've been told). I am in the last-two-days frenzy of tying up loose ends and trying to get outa here. And SO looking forward to our Tuesday bash.

Living on the road has so many advantages: for one, I was at the Christmas partay at BK's, and met Panni and Rachel, The Pogues, Jay and various DR's... I met the dear Delawares - Woody and Der Brucer while I was in Bristol for my show in Feb... and now I'll meet a goodly number of the NY HHW contingent. I would certainly come to a Portland gathering, if I were in the neighborhood... Hey, then let's all go to Australia!

Okay, enough of this idle blather. Let's have a blast of caffeine and get to the serious blather. More later.

Noel - Your marzipan post gave me the first laugh of the day.

SMALL TOWN CROOKS sprang to mind as I was walking this morning. Add to earlier list. As for THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR (the original) - the only thing I remember plot-wise of the film is that wildly romantic one minute (or more) kiss between Steve and Faye with the camera making orgiastic swirls around them. I think I need a cigarette! (And I don't even smoke.)

I must be out of the coleslaw loop, but I have truly NEVER heard of anyone putting pineapple in their slaw. I love pineapple. But I'm just trying to think of how it could fit into coleslaw. I don't get it.

I'm not a fan of the slaw myself, but my dad LOVES the stuff and apparently he's makes some of the best slaw in Louisville. He doesn't include pickles or pineapples.

My grandmother makes this marshmallow/pineapple concoction that is really tasty. I don't know exactly what's in it, but she uses the mini marshmallows and pineapple chunks and I think Cool Whip or Marshmallow Fluff. It's fantabulous, though I usually end up picking out the pineapple after a while.

"American Idol" -- yep, they got it right. And it's so much MORE right than Kelly Clarkson and Ruben Studdard.

Ruben needs some help -- maybe Dr. Phil could give him the extreme diet challenge.

As bad as I felt when Jennifer was ousted from the competition, I was vividly reminded last night of what I thought was a major problem with her -- I couldn't understand a word she sang.

And I think it's very odd....that song called "I Believe" sounds vastly different when Fantasia sings it than when Diana sings it. Diana sings it as a belting song...and with Fantasia, it's a personal anthem. It "sounds" different. I respond to it differently.

I wonder what Diana would have sung had she won, since she'd already sung "I Believe" earlier in the show.

Makes you wonder.....whether or not.....or....hmmmm....I won't go there.

I just made the same comment to someone else. How bizarre that they had Diana sing the winner's song, "I believe" earlier in the show. Wouldn't it have seemed odd to have her sing it twice?

I wonder if that in itself clued her in to her fate.
